Is anyone else concerned how easily waterlogged this pitch has got? Looks like there could be many postponed games in the coming months. I understand we've had a bit of rain, but with the high winds and Perdiswell pitches perfectly playable, I'm hoping something can be done.

Did you see how waterlogged it was ?
Weve played on much worse down the years but the safety of players is something that has changed over the years and the inspecting referee made that decision and we had to respect that.
We wanted to give it another hour or two for the high winds to help dry it out, but that would have come at a cost. Shifnal were leaving a 12.15, we would have been liable for their travel costs if we waited for a later decision.
Having the match referee turn up and call off a few hours later is something that has happened before and didn't go down well, best to learn from past mistakes, again we would have had to pay their expenses should that have happened.
And then there were other factors, the catering company needed cancelling without causing us a cost, the pies for the refreshments kiosk needed cancelling without a cost and the stock for the bar was also waiting on a decision.
It rained heavy during the day yesterday at times and it rained non stop from 9pm through to 8am so fully expected to see puddles everywhere, but wasn't as bad as first thought.
There's no doubt improvements are needed and perhaps not only drainage but leveling the pitch out my help also, but as with everything it costs money and also will need careful planning as to when work can start to ensure ready for kick off next season.

some of those postponed were on 3 or 4g pitches so even if we went that way nothing is guaranteed.

With the Evesham game postponed and more rain tomorrow, anyone know if the ground is dry enough yet to be able to take anymore rain?. Or is tomorrow's game in doubt?

I was in Worcester too - and looking forward to the Evesham game. Never mind such is life. We did however get to see the "other lot" play Kiddy at 6ways on Tuesday night - which was an interesting experience I can tell you! To be honest it was quite a good game and worth a fiver. I would guess around 350 there (about half were Kiddy fans). On Thursday morning we drive up and had a look at the "Claines Lane" ground, and we quite impressed. A nice lady from the Worcestershire FA showed us round. Hope to make a game there before the end of the season (fingers crossed!)
