A disappointing result after two recent home wins and playing so well for the first 30 minutes without really capitalising on our lead and possession and chances going begging. City went into the game without Dan Westwood, Arron Birch and Craig Jones and were down to the bare bones and with Chris Withington playing at right back and never looked comfortable in that position more suited in midfield with his work rate. Tividale,s goal was a rocket shot out of no where with Harrison well beaten, the visitors had a win at all cost mentality and got away with murder by a poor Referee who missed blatant fouls outside the box, but managed to see something for the Tividale penalty and winner. Our main problem is in the final third with chances being missed and the lack of threat by our front two who can run and work hard , but lack quality to play at a level you require if you want to be pushing for promotion. The manager may need to bring in a forward as Dan Westwood may be out for a while as he is having a scan for a hamstring injury and has struggled all season with his fitness, with Jamie Smith getting clattered and looks like he has picked up a ankle injury. The result leaves City in 8th position the league table and facing a tough game next up away at Boldmere , need to regroup and work hard on Thursay night ready for Saturday. Another excellent crowd of 551 and alot of old faces from past City games in attendance, hopefully many will come back for the next home game against Lutterworth Town in the 1st Round of the the Vase.

Nicely summed up. They kicked the life out of us as the ref had no idea what constituted a foul. Shaw and Dunkley in particular were fouled out of the game. Whether that and the injuries were an excuse for the second half performance I'm not sure but we certainly ended up trying to match Tivedale's approach and stopped playing football. Certainly converting chances has been a problem all season. There are times when watching football at this level gets to you and the second half on Saturday felt like that where anti-football won the day.

I wouldn't say we were down to the bare bones, every player on the bench last Saturday has played for the first team this season and Withington has played at full-back previously. Without Jones, Birch and Westwood we were certainly missing three of our most experienced players. Whether they would have made a difference is debatable.

Agree with above comments. First half quite enjoyable. Tividale defenders got stuck in and were effective at lumping the ball away. While we played 'nice' stuff at times we didn't really create too much. More entertaining to watch than in recent times. Their goal was a shot out of the blue which probably caught the crowd by surprise as well as the defenders. Goalies view blocked by other players. The penalty second half was soft. I couldn't tell from where I was if the forward had been hampered or not, he was nowhere near the ball and it was comfortably in the keeper's hands when he awarded it. Despite the result signs of improvement on previous years, just hope the weather holds up.
