Well, well, well, 2021/22 season starts and what's changed since last season? Not a lot really, we have a new manager who's been very successful at a number of clubs but doesn't seem to be able to get this team to play football at the matches I've seen this year, so no improvement there. Our goalkeeper has left and been replaced by one who, despite having played at a much higher level doesn't seem up to it. The defence can't defend, the midfield can't create and the forwards can't score goals. All shown quite graphically by the appalling display against Lye town yesterday. We could have played all year and not scored. What happened to the team that played so well in the second half against Highgate? Do we really have so many injuries we can't put out a decent team?
This is not taking anything away from Lye Town, their goalkeeper was outstanding, their defence was solid AND their attack gave our defence the runaround with their all out effort that led to 3 goals that surely could have been prevented.
Having supported the Club for over 50 years and seen some pretty poor sides since our heyday in the late seventies, I cannot see any way that this current crop of players is going to win promotion from this league. Harris surely has a mammoth task ahead and must consider radical changes to the team. I'd like to know why we never seem to have a tall centre half who wins all the balls in the air and a tall striker, particularly if the team are going to insist on booting the ball up the pitch from defence all the time and bypassing midfield.
Anyway, that's my take on things. I'd welcome your comments.

What happened to our first Summer signing - Ezewele? I thought he was going to be the rock around which the defence was built. His name hasn't even been mentioned of late: is he injured? Or has he joined Lockett and Jezeph in going elsewhere in pursuit of better football.
I can't attend at the moment, owing to my wife's dementia, but I have to say it doesn't seem as if I'm missing much, and - more to the point - I'm gradually losing interest.

Dan Jezeph deserves to be playing a higher level of football and surprisingly this is the first time an opportunity like it has arisen since he joined us. Plenty of approaches from clubs at same step of course. For others, grass isn't always greener. Louis Ezewele played against Cov United and Wulfrunians I think, has since left the Club

The wins and goals pre season suggested a promising season ahead. However you cannot read too much into friendlies as has been proven once the season proper started.
I am still trying to put names to faces and on the positive side youngsters Shaw and Muirhead have shown lots of skill and the ability to beat a defender.
I can only comment on the home games and it was most disappointing to be pegged back in the closing stages of the first 2 games in almost identical fashion. Long ball played up and the forward gets on the end to send looping headers past the keeper. As for the 3rd game we didn't seem to be able to offer much going forward. In contrast to last season the ball was played up at the earliest opportunity and was soon coming back at us. With 2 players out injured (Smith and Westwood) the depth does not appear to be there. The players seem to be giving it their best, but the quality is lacking.
It appears a strong physical presence would not go amiss. I fear once the pitches get heavy that we are going to be a bit lightweight.
The crowd of 500+ must have been disappointed with what they saw Monday and I am not sure how many will be coming back for more.
I am sure the hierarchy do not need to be told any of the above.

Andy Bevan assistant manager has tweeted that the club no longer want him to continue in his current role and will leave the club. i wish Andy well in his future coaching roles. A bit of a surprise but as a supporter we do not know what goes on behind the scenes, as the clubs start has been poor one under a experienced management team. Going forward a positive three points is essential at struggling Racing Club Warwick tomorrow night .

Before Tuesday's game City had played 5 won 2 drawn 2 and lost 1, if you think that's a bad start, then I will have to disagree. The 2 drawn games we should have won, the signs are there for City to do well this season, but it seems that some so called supporters had given up after just the 5 League games. So negative

City kept there 100% away record going with a 1-0 victory at struggling Racing Club Warwick and should of won by more with the post and bar keeping City at bay. It looks like we will be losing skipper Craig Jones being a victim to a late challenge and leaving him with a suspected broken ankle and ligament damage. This leaves City in second place in the league played two more games than 3rd placed Hanley Town who are our visitors on Saturday and one point behind us. Its our home form which has been disapointing losing to Lye Town and dropping four points against Highgate and AFC Wulfranians when well in control of each of the games. What has happened to the Worcester City coverage in the Worcester News at the two last away games , no match reports or live updates ? .

So negative Bit harsh of you tbh. It’s been 4 years since the club was relegated 3 divisions, but the quality on the pitch appears no better than it was during our first season in the Midland prem. You’re right that there’s a lot to be positive about, but it’s understandable why many supporters patience is wearing a bit thin. If they really were “so-called fans”, they wouldn’t still be watching and commenting. The fact that so many are still around shows their dedication. The constant revolving door of players doesn’t help either. The team doesn’t have an identity.

This may not have been true in our first couple of years at this level... but I suspect we are no longer a team with a standout budget in this league that has a right to think it can automatically be successful.
So like many other clubs we are having to compete to attract players at a certain standard. The WCFC brand may on occasion help attract players, but the flipside is opposing teams at this level really want to beat us ('big club' etc.)
I think we need to give Tim Harris a chance - he is still probably getting to really know the level, and therefore adjusting the playing (and coaching) staff accordingly. I like the way he has brought in quite a few younger players - it is their progression that will help the club to thrive and develop.
We look decently placed in the table - but there is a very long way to go. Upcoming games with Hanley & Lichfield will be serious tests.

First time posting so thanks for the chance to do so. Getting pretty used to the “let down” feeling and I have to say that to concede a goal in the couple of minutes is perhaps unfortunate. To do it again in the next home game is unusual, to do it in the third home game is a habit and to do it in the fourth is farcical and totally unforgivable.
Is it lack of fitness or lack of leadership or what? Mr Harris needs to address this as a matter of urgency.
I’m so pleased with all the progress that has clearly been made OFF the pitch by Steve and the Board but the work ON the pitch really need to be a lot lot better otherwise we will be at this level for a lot longer than many people anticipated.
