Vastly experienced Tim Harris appointed as first team manager. Decent pedigree of getting teams promoted so hopefully can get City back to challenging at the top of the table.

Didn't he have a spell at Newport County as well?

Yep, has the experience. Let's get behind him.
It's a shame it was teased on twitter like it was, with the David Brent vid. Some people posted and expected it was going to be Pete Beedle, so are now disappointed, even before Tim has started. Teasing an announcement like that was always going to lead to those kind of posts. Next time it would be wise to just announce it.

He is best mates with DB so that should go down well. Still the new man might be able to borrow some youngsters from Coventry.

Why would a little tease posting make anyone think that it was going to be Peter Beadle? Is there a subtle nuance here that I am completely missing? Is there a link between Brent and Beadle, other than they both begin with a B? I was expecting it to be Tony Pulis, should I be disappointed that I was duped by David Brent? Actually, I was secretly hoping that it was going to be Finchy!! After all, Finchy did play in goal when Bostock Stanley won the FA Cup! And after all that teasing....it's just Dave Boddy's mate and business partner!

Have a look at the thread on twitter, you can see how it panned out. People were even debating the pros and cons of Beadle as our new City manager.

And who exactly were those people? why on earth pick Peter Beadle at random? and how are the club in any way responsible for what "people" talk about?

It has been a while wince the club actively appointed a new manager (Richard Dryden maybe?), rather than defaulting to the assistant. I for one was in favour of us landing someone with broad experience and an abundance of local knowledge, and who I would guess will also look to bring in a younger assistant to support him. Harris fits the bill.
A friend of mine who is a Newport fan speaks very highly of Harris' time there.
This season has really felt like a false start on the pitch, after the delight at us getting back to play in Worcester. Who knows when we will resume playing - but let's all get behind Tim Harris and the team, and hope we now really kick on.

“...it's just Dave Boddy's mate and business partner!” Brilliant! How long before the orange business genius is back in the boardroom?

Whatever the club did, whoever they chose, some people would be disappointed. No-one associated with the club has mentioned any individual being linked, interviewed, or rejected, be that Mark Owen, or Peter Beadle, or Finchy! Who cares if a few people have a little gossip on Twitter? The club have gone about the whole process in a professional manner. Just think of it like the white smoke!

This will not end well. In fact, if previous CV entries are anything to go by, it will end in resignation when the sack is imminent, citing "lack of board ambition" and "I didn't have the backing of the fans" as reasons. Just remember having a lot on your CV doesn't mean you're actually any good at what you do, just look at the Prime Minister. If you're genuinely happy with having Boddy's best mate and business partner as the new City manager, then good luck to you. Ask the fans of the clubs he's been at previously what they think. Choosing David Brent as the trailer was uncannily apposite. Anyone want a season ticket?

The guess who before the announcement looked amateur and backfired when expectations were raised. And just imagine the uproar if Anthony Hampson had appointed Boddy’s best pal.

People were guessing even before Vincent exited stage left! I saw names like Owen, Townsend, Heeley being bandied around for weeks. Nothing ever stops the gossiping classes twittering away with their half baked theories. And getting upset about a video, which mentioned nobody at all, and then selecting someone else other than another person who might not have even applied for the job? How were expectations raised? The only expectation was that, a new manager would be announced shortly. My worry with Harris is that he just doesn't hang around anywhere for longer than two seasons, he's the Sam Allardyce of non-league football. He's not a man for stamping his legacy on any club, more of a fixer-upper (or not as the case may be). However, if he can bring a bunch of experienced non-league players, with no real ambitions left of making a career out of football, who can bully our way up a league or two, then that'll be job done.

Can’t see Harris sticking it out for long. Hopefully I’m wrong though, the club needs a bit of stability. The guess who before the announcement looked amateur and backfired when expectations were raised. And just imagine the uproar if Anthony Hampson had appointed Boddy’s best pal. I admire your dedication to your gimmick.

Given his track record he’ll hopefully have f****d off before we next play a game, whenever that may be.
