Losing him to Hereford is great news for him. Bad news for us.

Think he’s used to a bit of driving! Tremendous move for Dimi, who for me has been our real star this season. Sincerely hope he blasts a few and fulfils that potential. Can anyone remember the last player to go from City to Hereford? It’s usually the other way round!

There was a comment in the Worcester news about this and it said that Dimi was not on contract. We have players on contract at the club. Why wasn't Dimi on a contract? He was one of our best young players. Demetri is a massive loss for us and a freebie for Hereford.

May not have been the last but John Inglis did, returned to City after a year or so, and I think a few years later so did Trevor Jones.

At step 9 in the football pyramid, its a surprise that any player is on contract terms

I sponsored Demetri, without having seen him play, and felt that with his performances in a blue and white shirt he more than justified my (blind) faith.
I am very sorry to see him go, but quite understand, and really hope that he succeeds at Hereford. I haven't forgotten the toasting he gave the Coventry United full-back in that Vase replay.
He's big, strong and quick and was just what we needed up front. My only question mark would be over his fitness: he seems to have had a lot of problems with that thigh.

The last player to go from us to Hereford was surely Symmo? At the time it was a step down - later a step up!

Think Symmo went to Hereford from Gloucester.

That's correct, he went via Gloucester City.
Demetri is the first player to move from City direct to Hereford F.C.
In the Hereford United days, plenty of players made the move from Edgar Street to St. George's Lane. But I'm struggling to identify anyone since Trevor Jones who went in the opposite direction.
There were a couple of youngsters in the mid-90s who might almost qualify, but I'm not sure. Leigh Hall I think made the move via Ross Town. Ashley Wilkes was a youth team player who made one first team appearance for us then linked up with United, but I don't think he ever made the first team there.
I'll do some more digging.

Leigh Hall started at Ross and went back there, and made a name for himself at Newport.

Demetri pulled from the bench today: ankle problem. Pity, I was hoping he would make his first appearance.
