£10 coach tickets for Atherstone Town away in the FA Vase!

Following demand and having already filled two mini-busses, the Football Club will be running additional coaches to Atherstone Town for City’s away trip in the FA Vase on Saturday 8th February 2020 (3pm kick-off).

Once purchased, your name will be added to the list. Please bring proof of purchase along on the day in the form of the email confirmation.

To ensure as many fans as possible can attend to support the team in this Fifth Round Proper tie, the Football Club has decided to run coaches for as close to cost as possible. Due to this, the price is the same for adults, juniors and concessions across the board at £10 return (effectively £5 each way).

Please note that there will be Stewards on this family friendly coach.

Fans who prefer to pay in cash can do so at the next City away and home matches. Club officials will make themselves visible for people to pay for their coach seats in person, although it will be first come first served.

Coaches will depart promptly from the Croft Road Car Park next to Worcester Racecourse at 12:30pm on matchday, and will drop off there after the match (the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes).

• Coaches will leave from Atherstone 30 minutes after the final whistle – the pick up point will be the same as where the coaches will drop supporters off

This game is unquestionably Worcester City’s biggest since the Scunthorpe, Coventry City and Sheffield United FA Cup matches and could lead on to one of the biggest in the club’s history.

The Football Club sincerely hope supporters will turn out in their numbers to support the team in this pivotal match. which could bring more exciting days ahead and make the 19/20 season one to remember.

I would check with Steve about mini buses but i think it is only the coach that will leave from Croft Rd due to size etc...

Couldn't get to the game, so it was great to have radio commentary; it sounded like we ground out a very hard-earned replay. Perfect result for me as I hope to get to the replay, and of course by then we'll know the draw.

Hopefully we can keep eleven players on the pitch in the replay; assume Mewies is suspended for that?

Let’s win the replay. Given the travelling distances potentially, would defo want a home tie in Monday’s draw. No easy games though. Think we can beat Atherstone, saw a few ways today to break them down on Wednesday.

TROUBLE AT ATHERSTONE


Looks like we've become a magnet for abuse? While most of then accusations are serious and really need to punished accordingly, I feel a lifetime ban for the boxer short guy is a bit much. Seems he has no previous?

The racism and homophobia incidents as well the projectiles, need to be severely dealt with. Without making excuses, it seems Cup games bring out the non-fans looking for trouble. But there is no excuse for what the eye witnesses are saying about the stewards lack of control or willingness to intervene in certain situations.

Whilst I missed the game, doesn’t seem to me like City fans had anything to do with the more serious issues, streakers and pitch invaders aside.

But, has anyone seen the comment response to the WN story? Can’t post a picture here but;

Racial abuse much? If that’s what Marlon was on the end of from the Adders fans, that needs to be dealt with!

The Atherstone stewarding was pretty pathetic. There were 20-30 Atherstone oiks with half a dozen stewards right next to them, but the stewards didn't appear to do a lot to prevent things being thrown. I just think that the match, large crowd ( certainly more than 842 ) and occasion was just too big for Atherstone to manage properly. Bar the 20-30 "turn up on the day yobbos ", their staff and fans were otherwise a very friendly bunch. By chance I spoke with their chairman yesterday, and he seemed a pretty genuine guy, so let's leave it to him to sort it, and learn lessons. The City fans were generally well behaved. Not ours to get involved.

As for the match........a draw was a fair result. Not many chances in a tight game. It was a lively atmosphere, on a decent pitch. Mewies saw the red mist yet again with a stupid tackle from behind, putting his team mates in the proverbial. I keep wishing he'll learn, but I feel that I'm living in hope. Fortunately Joe Hawkins and Craig Jones had great games at the back, heading everything, and challenging for everything. Hawkins aerial ability has been sorely missed, and he dovetails well with Jones. Sam Hall also had a very effective game, and will no doubt be Mewies replacement in midfield for the replay. Brain and Adaggio both worked hard up front, and it was a good poachers goal from Marco.

Hopefully Dimitri Brown will be able to play some part in the replay, where based on yesterday, I fancy us to finish off the job.
