I had a terrible dream the other night. WCFC moved into Sixways and started to rise through the leagues again. All good so far. Then the board announced the appointment of a new director “with a wealth of football expertise”. Enter Mr D Boddy!
Aaaaaaaaaaargh!
I must eat less cheese last thing at night.

I wonder if the Warriors owners will exploit the fact that the Raiders’ branding seems so similar to the Los Angeles NFL team’s identity that, out of a confected fear of copyright litigation, they create a completely new name like, “Worcester FC”.

It will be Worcester Warriors F.C. And expect Boddy to be interested in developments. His claim to “have always been a Raiders fan” is already being drafted.

In their chairman's statement he expressed that for the 2020-21 season the team will play under the name of Worcester Raiders FC and be managed by their existing management team. The wording he used certainly made it sound like it wasnt forever, so I wonder if it'll all be change come the season after next?

Very interesting reading-
Worcester Football Limited - 2 directors....the owners at Warriors setup very very recently
Bond Group - 2 Directors.....the owners at Warriors and of course Bond Group own Morcambe FC.
So I understand these two now have significant control in Raiders and Morcambe which I'm pretty sure cannot happen and in terms of FA Cup, means Raiders cannot apply.
I have it on good authority that the blokes from Warriors will have full oversight of budgets and the management team etc moving forward...i think this is a bullet dodged
In other words.....just a matter of time before the colours, name and people are all replaced

End result....Raiders will be crawling back to Claines Lane begging for a space! Or upto Nunnery Wood. 😄😄

Did the Raiders people receive cash from Warriors in return for their lost control? I take it they didn't get the £300 million that the Saudis were going to pay Mike Ashley for Newcastle but if they were compensated they might not really care where the Raiders end up in the future.

I don’t see why there should be a fallout at Sixways any more than anywhere else - including WCFC. If they stay united though I can see them rising up the league pyramid much quicker than City. At the end of the day it’s all about finances. We have none. I hope this doesn’t develop into a petty squabble between clubs. WCFC has more important matters to concentrate on. It’s not about us and them.

At the end of the day they are nothing to do with us, they aren't rivals any more than Warriors are. They're just another local team, one with ambition and now maybe some wherewithal for a while. It won't be the same people involved very long as they'll be unable to stay out of trouble long enough to reap the benefits, and as soon as the owners realised they've backed a turkey they'll be offski. Remember Worcester Athletico?

Don't the owners of Worcester Warriors Rugby club also own (or part own) Morecambe Football Club ?

Here’s my recollection of events, I’m sure others can correct me or add details.
Back at the dawn of time (late ‘60s?) Dave Boddy persuaded WCFC they needed a commercial manager, and he was the obvious man for the job - being a go-getting entrepreneur type. After a short while it became apparent that he wasn’t quite the whizz-kid he made out he was. In fact he didn’t make enough money for the club to pay his wages. So the club fired him.
Boddy’s ego was so wounded he vowed to create a club that would become bigger than WCFC - I.e. Worcester Athletico. To that end he took over Upton F.C. and ruined them, then he did the same at Evesham. It was to become a familiar pattern. Somehow he wheedled his way back into WCFC and eventually became chairman.
You know the rest - we lost SGL.
Boddy is a dangerous combination of deluded, over-inflated self-confidence and gross incompetence.
I look forward to being corrected if I’m wrong.
