Personally I don't believe a word of any of these rumours. I'll wait and see who steps out on to the field at our first league game in August.

This morning the Club were informed that John Snape was tendering his resignation from his position as Manager.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Snapper for all of his hard work over the last three years under very difficult circumstances, he moves on with our best wishes for the future and we hope he gains the success he both craves and deserves.
Discussions were held between Board Members and it was decided that the position of Manager would be offered to his Assistant, Ash Vincent.
We can confirm that since this offer was made, Ash has accepted the position of Manager for the coming season.

Baldwin was correct then, now with snapper going Halesowen the locko one sounds about right.

Halesowen Town FC manager Paul Smith Ex Bromsgrove Sporting and Reddich United has appointed John Snape as his assistant manager, we all wish Snapper all the best in his new role at Halesowen who got relegated and need a complete rebuild on the pitch, as a ex player at the club its been a popular appointment.

We can expect a few to follow Snapper then. Locko being the obvious one and there's probably less chance of getting Foz back now.

Do you really believe we had players at the end of last season - Locko apart - who are good enough to play at Halesowen's level? Reynolds might fancy his chances but where he plies his trade next season is wide open anyway.
Snapper has worked his socks off to keep us going through a difficult period. We should be grateful for that. The Board were happy to stick by him but I think Paul Smith at Halesowen has done us a favour by forcing change on us.
Ash has had 12 months to learn the ropes at this level and hopefully his appointment will help to rejuvenate us on the field and off.

They probably are good enough with the right coaching, there's not thta much difference between the MFL and SLM

Well, we shall see, but we need a rebuild too. Hard to believe we will be competing with Halesowen to retain players who were good enough to finish 11th in the MFL.

The players in last year's squad were barely good enough for the current division, never mind the division above. I'm not convinced by Vincent's appointment - he seemed to hold the reins for a number of games in Snapper's absence during the poor run but will give him the benefit of the doubt. Having said that, the players returning for training or made offers to, don't fill me with confidence. Evans, Caines, Andoh, Sinclair and Attoumani were at best average and mostly pretty poor.

Maybe we could get Hughesy back?
His stint as Halesowen's player/manger for their final 10 games or so wasn't good enough to keep them up. He subsequently wasn't 'offered' (or considered for) the role there for next season.
Would he now be willing to play under Snapper, or look for a move?

I think we needed a change, but this doesn't feel like much of a change at all, appointing Ash. Was anyone else even interviewed?
We haven't actually appointed a 'new' manager since...who was it...probably Richard Dryden back at the Lane.

Since Phil Lines left in 1991/92 Richard Dryden is the only person appointed as manager who hasn't previously played for or managed City.

GK - Jezeph DEF MID - Ethan Moran - Liam Lockett - Josh Willis ATT - Jordan Harrison so presume we are looking to get a keeper to cover for the first three matches that Jezeph is banned for & presume they will be of some use as we cannot afford to lose the first three games.

Good point as one of those games will be FA Cup. I note we've lost Matt Gwynne. Baldwin and Lemon have also decided to go elsewhere.

I'm not commenting on who may come in or go but yes a keeper is needed (think Snapper said that in recent interview).

I'm with jupu - Lockett aside, none of the others looked remotely capable of playing at a higher level. As for Snapper, he'd tried hard, was loyal but he'd taken us as far as he could, he looked jaded in the role, and I too also think Paul Smith has done us ( and the Board ) a favour. After finishing 11th last season, it's an opportunity for Ash Vincent, as we could hardly have done much worse. A fresh start for all. Let's hope that he can get some new faces in.

If Liam Lockett has signed then I guess I'll have to cough up on my promise to sponsor him again. It will be a pleasure as I'm sure he's destined to go much higher, as he matures, than our current level.

Doesn't change the fact we only have one keeper and need another, doesn't matter if its Snapper, Eddie Howe or Jurgen Klopp in charge or doing interviews.

Could Sam Gilder be persuaded to come out of retirement - just for three games? not when i spoke to him last game, he said that was it, he wants to do his normal job & then think about next adventure.
