I enjoyed today. Some very commited performances, and lots of chances. Shame we couldn't convert them, but can't knock the effort. Didn't have a good enough angle on the offside goal, but Long Eaton's penalty was definitely rightly given. Decent attendance 346. I predict a top 6 finish.

Each to their own, but you must have watched a different match to me today then ! I felt that it was pretty turgid stuff, and other than honest endeavour from both sides, neither side offered a great deal particularly in the the final third. Quality was distinctly lacking from both sides, and how we missed Forsyth's passing and poise on the ball.
On the bright side it was certainly the youngest ( and hopefully cheapest ) City side in my memory, so hopefully some of them can progress. With Harrison, Birley, Evans, Special K, and Withington on the bench, I certainly didn't agree with the starting X1 and tactics. Yet again, we play one up front on his own at home against a defence that sits in. I felt sorry for James Lemon as there was barely a City player within 30 yards of him in the first half, and any passes in his direction were either over his head or misplaced. To his credit, he never stopped trying despite the paucity of quality service to him. I've long given up trying to understand our tactics of just not getting bodies into the box.
The attendance of 346 was excellent considering it was 9th vs 14th with nothing to play for. As for a top 6 finish - no chance.

I wasn't particularly impressed either. We could have played all night and not scored, and even if we had, it'd have been chalked off for off-side. Worst call ever and that's cost us points. He was at least three yards onside, maybe more. We saw some poor officials at NN level, this afternoon, they're just taking the pee.
But, it was a very young City side, Locko played well, as did Ethan Moran. Cannot understand the substitution of both wingers, with Balders and Moran off the pitch we lost all shape. I cannot understand why Harrison came on and played wide right and Evans wide left, surely both are centre forwards? Not been to a game for a while, but no wonder Jordan has gone off the boil if he's being pushed out wide. It's decisions like this and bringing Baldwin off on 60 minutes that make you lose faith with the tactical nouse of the management.

To be fair. At this level all I expect is a committed performance. Which I think we got today. I hate seeing players just going through the motions. At least they got stuck in. Keep the youngsters together and I'm sure the goals will come

Baldwin was taken off because he was knackered. He hasn't played for us since December due to an injured ankle.
I am sure as weeks go on he will start to regain his fitness

That was a vision of our future, young lads doing all they can do create a silk purse from a pig's ear. Tactically it was all wrong yesterday, and there was no real realisation of this and tactical change during the game. Sure, the three behind Lemon switched around but it was the same end product. We needed a midfield boss, Josh and Sam tried hard but we didn't impose our will on the middle of the park. No good saying Special K should have come on though as he's the most lightweight shithouse I've ever seen, just got to hope Andoh's hammy isn't that bad. Yesterday was the sort of game Cainesy would have been ideal sat in front of the defence and mopping things up. We improved when Witto came on, but ultimately it was an end-of season 0-0 that went wrong. In February. Have we really given up already?

Have we given up already? Well, we're destined to finish mid-table, but there is an Urn to play for against those lovely people from Highgate.
It's evident to me that the rest of the season is all about trying out young players with a view to establishing which ones are good enough to play at this level regularly next season - that's assuming they want to play for Worcester City.
Having said that, three successive league defeats is very poor, even if we're now paying less wages than most other clubs in our league we should be able to compete better than this.

Very fair comment jupu, although I'm not sure about the wages claim. We get home crowds of 300 plus every week, plus income from the Gold Bond, yet still lost 71k last season in our first season in the MPL, and will no doubt lose 20 k plus this season ? The money has to go somewhere.
How do clubs who get crowds of 70 if that, and with no Gold Bond scheme get teams out ?

The wages claim is absolutely right. There's nobody on more than 50 quid, including those on contracts!

I've no idea. However if you're correct, we're making a profit this season then.

I've no idea. However if you're correct, we're making a profit this season then. No there are others like ground costs at £500 per game. Yes the club lost £71,000 last season against £291,000 the previous season. Wages and expenses £109,000 against £362,000. So you can see that the club are moving in the right direction.

I dont think it is fair to speculate on what individual players are getting paid. That information has not been released and wont be released.
The fact is there was a budget last year and despite the comment at AGM we were under budget.
There was a budget set this year and we are under it.
There will be a budget next year and we will be under it!
We are moving forward and pushing this club in the right direction. I have started work on sponsorship for next season which we hope to release before this season ends.
There will be an event we hope in the summer, details are being worked on there.
And I am sure now that others will be looking at other events we could hold to engage in the community, raise funds etc etc
