Not having seen City for a while I'm looking forward to this.
Strange form lines going into this one: City beat Coventry United last time out, who beat Leicester Nirvana in the last round of the Vase, and the latter beat Westfields on their own patch I believe. Coventry United also beat Walsall Wood recently. Make of that what you will.

City looking outmatched at every step, unfortunately.

The proverbial game of two halves, Walsall Wood deservedly ahead at the break, but second half a different story. Don't we lack a goalscorer though? Harrison and Lawrance no match for the WW defence.
Interesting to note what a low foul count there was, both the opposition and ourselves looking to play football. No cards issued at all.
A highly entertaining game which, right to the end, could have gone either way. A credit to both teams.

Only Wolves Sporting have won fewer home games than City this season. Sad but true. We have the second best away record in the league though.

One league win at home in four months and no wins in our last five home league matches. In the circumstances it was a pretty impressive turnout by the City faithful today. It was an entertaining game and we had a decent second half but our goalkeeper Sam Gilder kept us in the game and deserves praise for a really assured performance.

Stating the obvious but if only we were really at home. Hope Goodey has a miracle up his sleeve

The whole season will pivot on Easter Monday, the last away game of the season at Westfields. Walsall Wood are at Khalsa that day, Shepshed play Quorn, but Ilkeston are at Dunkirk. Khalsa have Dunkirk at home last match, Walsall Wood have Wolves Sporting. It's still very much anyone's league, any one of the top ten could still put enough of a run together, and as we've already seen this season, consistency just doesn't happen very often with even the better sides. Really need to start scoring a few more now, starting on Tuesday.

A game of 2 halves, where Gilder had an excellent game and kept us in it. His shot stopping, kicking, handling, and decision making were all very good and he was certainly my man of the match. We had nothing going forward in the first half, but the 2nd half substitutions of Lemon, Evans and Withington gave us more running and fresh legs, and made it an entertaining end to end second half. A great finish also by Forsyth for our goal, excellent placement into the top corner. I'd just like to see Forsyth play 15 yards into the opponents half, rather than 15 yards inside ours. He has the ability to decide games at this level with his range of passing, but just plays too deep. Lemon and Evans both showed that they should start start, as they both looked hungry and full of energy. All in all, an entertaining game, well refereed, with a healthy crowd.
