This is possibly the teams biggest test so far both in terms of opposition and (hopefully) playing in front of a bumper crowd (600 plus???).
As joint managers, I expect messrs Snape and Vincent to come good in their approach to settling players nerves and expectations.

Do we have joint managers? John Snape has been conspicuous by his absence lately, leaving Ashley to do all the press interviews.
Is there something wrong with him?

Excellent 3-0 win. For me, our best team performance of the season, against a rough house of a team. Caines and Withington ran non stop in midfield. They both have a great attitude, never give up, and if they lose the ball, get straight into getting it back. They were first to everything in midfield, and full of energy. Birley and Weir complemented them well. Baldwin was on his game, with better final ball delivery to match his undoubted trickery. The defence was generally solid, with keeper Jezeph again impressing with a couple of great saves at key moments.
A word also for Ash Vincent. In the absence of Snapper, he has really stepped up to the mark. His selections, formation, and tactics were spot on, as were his substitutions. A very good effort by all.

Enjoyable game. Thought it was obvious early on that a red card was coming. Loving the team playing as a unit this season. Big fan of Jezeph. Ilkeston were a very niggly side and underwhelming to say the least.

First City game i’ve been to in quite a while. Utterly fantastic. Baldwin was superb.

Took two of my grandsons with me (as always) and one of them won the half-time draw, which - with the larger than usual crowd - was £103. Needless to say he was chuffed, as were all three of us with City's performance. I was glad that we didn't rise to the bait with the physical stuff. Felt we had this one under control most of the time.
Perhaps the red card was a little harsh, but the ref was much nearer than me and Baldwin was - after all - through and the defender was the last man.
Although I wouldn't argue with Baldwin getting man of the match I thought Matt Birley had a stormer. As for the third goal, although the paper is playing up the fact that they were not sure if it was a shot or a cross, if you remember Harrison had a similar effort from out on the left in the first half, except with his other foot, and that wasn't far off either, so maybe he did mean it. Either way it was a corker and really put the seal on our best performance of late. Funny how City have always played better against the top teams.

Although I wouldn't argue with Baldwin getting man of the match I thought Matt Birley had a stormer. I'd have gone with Forsyth for MOTM - plenty of players upped their game but I think that was the best shift Fozzy has had in a City shirt, which is saying something after some top performances last season. Matchball sponsor gets to pick their man of the match and award a bottle of bubbly to them after the match, as well as mentions on PA, programme and being invited for tea & nibbles in the board room - £50+vat... you should try and get your grandson to treat you to a matchball sponsorship with some of his winnings!!

No chance: he already has plans for his £103!
