Enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine - although a pretty forgettable game until the last 10 minutes. South Nomanton had much less quality than City but got there with sheer effort and determination.
I enjoyed the fact there were no programmes because the manager hadn’t brought them along; he is the only one with a printer apparently.

Remember who we are now, we are Worcester City of the Midland Premier League, on the 9th step of the football pyramid, at a level where many clubs remain amateur, literally and metaphorically. Programmes are a money loser for most clubs, including Worcester City. The club lost money on programmes when in the Conference. Its a gamble, paying up front, and hoping to a) sell enough to cover costs b) not have games postponed and rescheduled. That is a massive problem, and this year with so many postponements due to weather, clubs have had to burn the expense of a programme run that no-one ever sees on way to many occasions. You'd have thought that, in the 21st century, that the archaic programme would be replaced with something digital, and more dynamic, and more importantly, a whole lot cheaper !

You'd need a programme programme. Then someone could make a documentary about it and that would be "The programme, programme, programme". It's a winner. I hope Hampson takes this up.

Taken from the Daily Mirror....... "The EFL will vote next month on whether the production of a matchday publication will remain mandatory for clubs up and down the country.
As it stands, teams at nearly all professional and semi-professional levels are required to produce a programme for every competitive match.
However, the digital era has put their future under threat".Dodger.

It sounds like they're proposing a programme pogrom. Perhaps someone will make a love story based around it? That would be a programme pogrom rom-com.

On the idea of a modern programme (online), I think it was the Southern League who have said teams can now produce a digital programme, and not have the requirement of the league to produce a physical program anymore... myself I'd be all for a cheap, online version, rather than a more expensive, physical version that loses money for the club and is less up to date. I'm sure many would disagree though!

Producing a digital programme will still cost time and money to write, edit, design, create, publish and sell, unless volunteers can do the aforementioned for free. If there is a choice I suspect many MFL clubs would opt out. The best programme I've seen this season was Boldmere away.

Much of what is in the programme is taken from Website, Socials, Worcester News etc anyway. Nothing wrong with that as programmes are purchased by the older generation who probably still do not use the web etc, that or people who have simply always bought one still do.
In the world of volunteers etc this would also cut down on them selling and concentrating on other areas such as the Club Shop, 50/50 etc

Boldmere have won awards for their programmes, and agreed, the best of the season for me.
Like Kev has said, a lot is taken from website, managers notes, stats etc would all still be done. Does the MFL require a programme? As has been mentioned, a few haven't bothered/had issues this season (Rocester even advertised a free programme with entry, only for none to turn up!).

Answer is....I dont know. It is not in the MFL Rules but in the Standardised Rules. However, Clubs were told to send a copy of our programme from each home fixture to a body within the league. I also know that clubs had to detail the Total Motion logo in their programmes and an audit was taking place shortly after the announcement. I will ask the question
