If ever there needed proof that we are really not a lot more than a pub team now, the annual awards evening is being held in a little pub! A few years back, I well remember a fantastic awards night I attended at WCCC cricket ground, loads of tables sold, great food, Steve Goode doing a fabulous job as MC, loads of fund raising activities on the night, and a really good fun filled evening for players, staff, and supporters. Now its at a pub! where supporters will have to "cram in" www.worcestercityfc.org/news/end-of-season-awards-ceremony-2268008.html

The logic of wcfc being a pub team because the awards evening is being held in a pub, is the same as saying we were a cricket team because we had an awards evening at wccc.
The cap sponsors the club, the players when asked preferred the idea over holding it at bromsgrove after tomorrows game. Its free to attend, some hot food will be put on and a better selection of drinks available to buy compared to the bar at bromsgrove (No slight on them)

Looks like the Club beat the Trust to the punch of hosting events in a pub.
I wonder if downthelane’s head is about to explode at the news?

It just shows how far we've fallen. I believe that the Supporters Trust booked tables in the past, and I, like all of those who attended, were quite happy to purchase tickets. Great food (not just "some hot food") and wine at the tables. A video montage of the season, and Steve Goode as ever on top form. Well worth the money, and a great fundraiser, as there were plenty there who weren't directly involved with the club who came along, so community engagement. But hey, a small local pub bar will suffice for the club now. Mind you, a small pub bar would have never been big enough when Dan was playing at Wychbold, or Perrywoods. Having to cram into a tiny pub is hardly a great sell.
