Mr Hampson, however hard you and your various cohorts might try, you can't blame the crowd last night on Jeremy Pitt. You can't blame the crowd last night on the Supporters Trust. You can't blame the crowd last night on Carl Heeley. You can't blame it on the credit crunch, the banking crisis, Mike Sorensen, Dave Boddy, the weather, the lack of weather, leaves on the track, or a bad haircut.
You and your Board might not wish to talk with supporters (when was the last time you stood with fans on the terraces, instead of watching games from a Directors Box?) but they sure as hell spoke to you last night. That's 40-50% of the fans who've still stood by you that last night decided that enough was enough. It's time to man up Mr Hampson, stop this rather pathetic "I'll walk away and you'll never hear from me again.......but only under my terms" and climb down from your high horse and get working with people who just want to find a solution.

I envisage Hampson will reach out to the likes of the Trust etc. But I can't see this as being anything more than a gesture, a delaying tactic to hide behind while the funds and records are salted away.

Whilst the low attendance can be partly blamed,I suppose, on midweek difficulties and lack of away support etc,I hope the fundamental reason is that the penny has finally dropped! I can't really blame people for being slow on the uptake because, as I have said many times,I was slow enough.
