The Board of Directors would like it to be known that the Club will not be taking the route of going amateur and will remain a semi-professional club. We can also confirm that the Club will, as a minimum, be playing in the Total Motion - Midland Football League Premier next season, however we still hope to achieve promotion this season.

Think this could be our final season as Worcester City FC. With not much left in the pot, rent to sporting, probably not much in the way of FA competition money and dwindling crowd money, this is it. Well done Mr. Hampson and co, your wish has been granted, your more than likely get away with all your underhand swindling

Well done Mr. Hampson and co, your wish has been granted, your more than likely get away with all your underhand swindling Your first paragraph sums up exactly how I feel too. Add to this the fact that we won't be in the same league as Sporting and therefore our one big money earner of the season will disappear. Unless we make significant progress in the Vase gate income will be significantly reduced. One could speculate as to the reason why the board has chosen to issue this brief statement about the Club's intentions for next season. However it does at least give a degree of clarity and suggests to me that it gives John Snape - if he remains in charge - the opportunity to try and keep hold of some of his players for next season.

My brain is working on the principle that the "fully amateur" comment was timed to persuade the higher earners to leave, which they all did pretty quickly. Wage bill suitably reduced so they can carry on for a little while.

As the running of the club is completely amateur, the team might as well be.
