Has anyone ever seen anything like it before? A day later and i’m still really confused as to what was going on.

No idea, we were all baffled in the press box. I don't think I heard anyone ask Snapper post match what it was for, however. Couldn't hear what ref said to Snapper whilst waiting for Lee to return.

It was for an earlier foul. Lee ran off to be substituted before referee could book him, he ran off down the tunnel as he needed a pee.
Referee was saying "until he returns, play would not resume".
The wait was obviously because Lee was busy. Helped us though, slowed play down, although referee managed to do that for everyone yesterday

I know Lee Hughes is sometimes his worst enemy but it seems as if every ref sees it as a 'badge of honour' to book him.
