I'm guessing the weather might put the game in doubt? Any chance of the game at Wolverhampton being OFF Tuesday? I'm thinking of travelling doiwn for my first "away" of season, as its one of the closest grounds that City will play on - to me! Anybody else from the NW going?

Pitch inspection at 4.30pm as there's been some snow... I'll post on clubs socials when I hear more.

Guess so, I appreciate injuries were a factor but when you read Andy Mitchell's half time verdict - "All too easy for City, have not needed to move out of third gear..." - I can't understand how we ended up not winning.

Very much so foot off the accelerator second half. The reason my updates went quiet was because City went from the first half keeping Wulfrunians largely pinned in their own third, to hardly creating a chance in the second half.
Only two players that in my opinion left the match having worked hard throughout were Birch and Forsyth. Sure, injuries did play a factor, but you have to expect more from some players who either sat back at 2-0 and 2-1, especially with the experience many of them have.
Saturday is vital now... win that and we are still in with a chance. I think if we lose, it's game over for the title.

I tend to follow the oppositions Twitter, you get more facts and an unbiased view of a game. Important when you're 100 miles away. I wish that the City Twitter updates provided info about the oppositions goals, bookings etc by name. Every game it's "equaliser from their No. 9" or " Their No 2 gets a yellow card". Isn't the whole point of getting teamsherts that you can reference by name? If a grammar school old boys club like Wulfrunians can get it right , then surely Worcester City can do better?

I found it hard to fathom myself. Take no pleasure in saying I called it about three minutes before the goal, worst part was Wulfrunians did nothing special and there was no sustained pressure at 2-1. City went from third to second gear in the second half, Wulfs went from first to second.

How clearly did you follow last night ? Because Wulfrunians posted in the 3rd,20th, 63rd and 90th minutes of the game and they were just goal updates, no bookings, no subs. So this post is just another pop by you at an individual working for the Club!

Not a pop at all, just a comment, deal with it or not. Is it so difficult to name the opposition players? Wulfrunians managed to mention the City goal-scorers by name. A tweet that No5 has gone off and No16 has come on provides no value whatsoever when you have no idea who either number is, whether its a like for like swap, or is No16 a forward replacing a defender? I followed on the Worcester News site last night, which is very good in game reporting, no numbers, all names and a good indication of what was happening in the game.

it amazes me how many names you want to use & have to yes have a pop again, are you so board that you seem to be such a great man having a go at a lad who does his best to give reports on a club he follows around the country & costs the club nothing, as ive said befor JEM you think you are big but infact show how childish you are & dont even attend to support the lads on the pitch... grow up

Anyway, big game on Saturday against Team No. 1 ! I'll be heading to Team No. 1's ground for the game, as if you head through Packington Lane from Stonebridge Island, you go past the offices of Employer 5 ! Be careful if it's icy along that road though, we lost employee 32 in a car crash along there. Sad times. I never thought in a million years that City would be playing at that ground !!

Correct, I'm not stupid enough to prop up a failed business with my hard earned cash. You might be, but thats your choice, and this is mine. Deal with it. Not having a go at anyone the WCFC Twitter is an entity, not a person.

Yes certainly amusing for someone who can have an argument between his own pseudonyms, to want someone to know everyone's name! Isn't that right Jem/Avante/Brooksider/Henry/Boris/Who/Nathan Jessup!? I've no doubt missed some off there.
More often than not at away games I don't get a team sheet, be that they home team haven't got any, or I've arrived after they've been handed out. At one game this season it was written on a whiteboard and we were just expected to know that it was there, many times I've had to find Kev to see his hand written copies because none are available at all. We often didn't get team sheets in the National League North. At the VG I often end up having to give mine away. Last night I didn't have a team sheet... Andy from WN got a team sheet - but I didn't. I took a quick picture on my phone to post online... didn't much fancy having to go back through my phone photo album to check it each time something happened.
As for bias... I'm a City fan, of course I'm going to be a bit biased at times... same as the opposition teams perspectives are no doubt biased.

As for when a sub occurs and you'd like to know if they're an attacking player or a defensive player... unless I've heard of them before now, I've no idea, so no point me guessing.
"Replacing number 5, Tom Ray for Wulfrunians, is 16 Jumaane Meggoe. I think he plays on the left. Or the right. Maybe he's a forward. Or a defender. He might play centre mid. It'll be one of those, I'm sure."

No but, you can see where he stands on the pitch can't you? It just paints a better picture. Got to say Andy Mitchells updates are spot on.
See how easy it is to give an explanation of why? No big deal, no "having a pop" , all very easy.
Would it be an idea to be sat near someone like Andy Mitchell at a game, or with the press officer of the other team? Or have a chat with the PA guy to get a copy of teansheets?

Back to the result......................simply not good enough................again.
Now we're 8 points behind Coleshill with one game in hand, 6 points behind Bromsgrove same games played, 2 points behind Khalsa with a game in hand. Lose Saturday, the season's over.
Snape and Hughes seem unable to alter the team to close out games. The players, many of them very experienced, seem unable to manage a game through.
Never mind, Anthony is happy where we are, and is beyond criticism.

I trialled using goalshouter as an alternative at Lye Town away. It posts direct to Twitter, or you can follow it through their own website r app. It enables me to point directly where a shot was, a set piece taken from and by who, is easy to note subs, cards etc, as well as giving usual comments on the game... sadly the majority voted against goalshouter, in favour of Twitter. I preferred goalshouter but not going to use it if most want standard Twitter updates!
Andy stayed in the bar to watch the game, I enjoy watching a match from the attacking end, so took yesterday as a rare opportunity to do just that.

A very frank assessment from Lee Hughes in the WN. I suspect the management know deep down that our chances of winning the league are slipping away.
To try and put a positive spin on things, a return of 2 wins and a draw from this run of 3 successive away games would probably seem like a fair return and is still achievable. But that would require us to turn in our best performance of the season on Saturday.
And we would need to maintain a similar pattern of results for the remainder of the season.

Just to go back to the media thing with the names as I can offer some other insight into how we work if you put the seriousness into it.
I made a second career fairly late into the world of Sports and Broadcast Journalism - all thanks to the excellent department at the University of Worcester as a mature student.
As a result - single handedly in putting together a one man band of covering all of the annual Varsity week on audio comms - if I never normally got a team sheet - if that was the case, I’d seek out a member of the coaching staff or a captain of the side to either dictate a team sheet to me pre game or email them in the few days before to get some insight of who was taking part - including any interesting info on what certain players did, where they came from etc. This enhanced the experience for both me and the listener/viewer markedly.
As a result I ended up working for Youthcomm - who thankfully gave me the job of covering the last two games on radio at the Lane and the first season at Aggborough - for which I was eternally grateful.
The broadcast and text comms community is a tight knit one when you are based in the correct position in the Press Box.
I remember setting up at Aggborough before our first game in the place against Altrincham. A member of their website approached me (well I was sat next to him) about 45 minutes before kick off asking me where certain City players would line up and who they played for previously, their style of play on the pitch etc. - information that then complemented what was detailed in the programme.
I do remember one experience trying to hunt someone down in the bowels of the National Stadium in Oslo to get a team sheet for a Premier League game there I was covering - which ended up in a very decent chat with the veteran radio commentator for NRK Radio (our older correspondents on here - think the Norwegian equivalent of the peerless Peter Jones)
If you did your pre game prep (which for me was a few days before doing research between lectures and on lunch breaks) then the job became very very easy.
As they say - “poor preparation promotes piss poor performance” - the fabled mantra of the Six P’s...

If you were able to give the guy from Alty what he was looking for I'm impressed. There were five debutants for that game - George Williams, Richard Munday, Luke Hubbins, Daniel Nti and Aaron Williams. Graham Hutchison and Ashley Sammons were also in the team having played a handful of matches for City the previous season. I struggled to recognise half the team for the first few games at Aggborough, never mind what position they played or where they had been previously.

The twitter match updates are appreciated. I look at them a couple of times each half, & then full time, for our away games. Keep it up. (I also like the match day tannoy announcement / music etc at the Vic. That lad (from Uni I think) has settled into the role seamlessly).
Jupu's right in saying we now need to maintain a similar pattern to the end of the season, so had a quick look at what opposition are left & their league positions;
MFLP 10/02/18 Coleshill Town v Worcester City. 1 MFLP 17/02/18 Worcester City v Coventry United. 12 MFLP 21/02/18 Heanor Town v Worcester City. 8 MFLP 24/02/18 Coventry Sphinx v Worcester City. 6
MFLP 03/03/18 Worcester City v Long Eaton United. 13 MFLP 10/03/18 Shepshed Dynamo v Worcester City. 10 MFLP 13/03/18 Worcester City v Shawbury United. 20 MFLP 17/03/18 Loughborough University v Worcester City. 16 MFLP 24/03/18 Worcester City v Boldmere St Michaels. 14 MFLP 31/03/18 South Normanton Athletic v Worcester City. 21
MFLP 02/04/18 Worcester City v Westfields. 11 MFLP 07/04/18 Worcester City v Rugby Town. 7 MFLP 10/04/18 Bromsgrove Sporting v Worcester City. 2 MFLP 14/04/18 Boldmere St Michaels v Worcester City. 14 MFLP 17/04/17 Stourport Swifts v Worcester City. 18 MFLP 21/04/18 Worcester City v Highgate United. 5 MFLP 24/04/18 Worcester City v Rocester. 22 MFLP 28/04/18 Quorn v Worcester City. 15
We would be looking at March as being critical, & would probably already need to be in the top 2 by the end of it to stand a realistic chance of going up, as April looks tougher - both in the number of games to be played & the level of opposition teams.
