I'm pleased he's staying from a playing point of view, as when he plays with controlled aggression, he's a very effective player at this level. However what worried me was " Worcester came back with a fantastic deal which we cannot compete with." Fantastic deal at level 9 ?
With no cup runs as per Hampson's grand masteplan of " ifs" , and still losing money, albeit apparently " vastly reduced " , how are we staying within the playing budget ?
Answers on a postcard to Mr A Hampson, Parsonage Way, Worcester.

I've no idea of the playing budget, no idea if Brad was offered more money by City to stay or not, but I do know you shouldn't believe everything you read.

Very easy for a rival manager to say a player was offered a great deal by the other club. The club he stays with aren’t going to come out and say but he’s only on £x.

It would be helpful if the board could issue a statement to confirm that Brad is staying and also to clarify that - improved deal or not - the club is staying within the playing budget. Otherwise rumour and speculation may overshadow what should be a good news story.

www.worcestercityfc.org/news/brad-birch-stays-2098420.html#.Wh6UjzBypas.facebookWorcester City FC can confirm that following interest from a number of Clubs, Brad Birch has currently committed himself to the Club for the remainder of the season. As suggested by reports in the media, we can confirm that Bromsgrove Sporting did submit a 7 day request which the Club waived to enable the two parties to talk. Discussions were held with Brad and it was clearly indicated, with no financial implications to Worcester City, that he wants to remain at the Club . Brad Birch is and always has been Club Skipper since taking over from Tyler Weir earlier in the season and we look forward to many more good performances such as the one put in last Saturday.

I am pleased myself: he and Nathan Hayward form our most influential midfield. Both are 100% committed and tireless workers.

Its nice to see the club vision is to keep going back to the future! I'm half expecting the announcement of the return of Steve Ferguson and Brendan Hackett next week!

Well I think it's a fantastic signing. We all know how good Nath is between the sticks. The main differences in the quality of football I've noticed at this level compared to step 2, is the time on the ball players get, and the quality of keepers. The fact that he's dropped from National League to Midland Prem to play for us in my opinion speaks volumes.
