Pre-match vote? On what?
The last time we played Stourport Swifts at home - in fact the only time - was in the Interlink Express Cup on 24 October 1997. Mark Hallam scored his only ever goal for City at the Lane that afternoon as we won 5-1. He went onto do rather better at Tamworth.
Don't know if Brad Birch will play today but just to add that he's started only two of the five matches we've lost this season.

The usual
Will Worcester City win? lose? or draw? Nothing exciting

Oh well I thought it might be about something important.
As for today's game it was entertaining, could have finished 8-4 as plenty of chances went begging at both ends. Every City player who started had a decent game. Brad Birch didn't look like he'd been out for a month, he must have worked hard on his fitness. A word too for the much maligned Matt Gwynne. He had hardly anything to do first half but made at least 3 terrific saves in the second.

It could have been 8-4 !
A comfortable win against a surprisingly poor Swifts team. Birch made a difference playing with controlled aggression in midfield, working hard, breaking up play, and getting forward. No copyright on this, but when he keeps his head on, he's an effective player at this level. Jamie Smith returning gave us a far better balance to the team, and we used the width of the pitch a lot better than of late. Gwynne still gives me the shakes when the ball's at his feet, but his shot stopping was very good today. However the disparity between our home and away form remains the problem. A nice touch from the club with the minute's silence.
Anyone seen the Chairman ? Not there again today. Away with the Warriors or still pitchforking Parsonage Way ?

Won in a canter. Noticeable how much more mobile the back four was without Wayne Thomas. A word for the perpetually unsung hero Nathan Hayward: I thought he was terrific again, but then so too were Birch, Jamie Smith (best game I've seen him have recently) and Reynolds who worked tirelessly but just didn't get the luck in front of goal. Will be interesting to see how we perform at their place next week, when - although we are away - it will be nearer than a home game for me!

The main site's fixture list still says we are playing Stourport next week though Verner. Hi Cloud, I had left it up on the website as awaiting a conversation with Stourport on Saturday gone about a new date, I was hoping to move it to the Tuesday night but they cannot do that date. I have removed from the site and once a date has been agreed the fixture list will be updated accordingly

Hopefully he will stay with us & not go to Bromsgrove.

I forgot to say in my earlier post that the referee (whoever he was) was better than usual on Saturday: he played several advantages, allowed a bit of physical challenge and clamped down on obvious fouls. Not noticed, but that's usually a good sign.
