From some of the posts on here it seems as if a number of fans who might otherwise have gone are going to give this game a miss in the light of what we saw last Saturday? Can fully understand that. As for the game itself, I guess a draw or win will be seen as a good result, losing will only underline the impression that we're not good enough to win this league in my view.

I don't quite understand the "we don't like the oppositions style of play so we won't watch a game" attitude. How come we are acting so elitist in the Midland Pub League? Jeez, if that attitude persisted back in the good old days of the Southern League and the Gola League, we'd have to all be boycotting games against the likes of Runcorn and Alty, and Crawley, and many other of the cynical sides of their times. I'm sure the players and management will have a more positive attitude to going to Highgate.
I'm up in Worcester for the weekend , so I feel like a trip out to Highgate , and quite frankly, I don't really care how they moan and whinge, and play the ref blah blah!

I've been trying to think what all this talk of "supporting the lads" etc reminds me of, and I've realised that it's akin to that of a victim of an abusive relationship. They get beaten and humiliated time and time again but refuse to see what is happening to them and keep returning for more.
No matter how often they're advised to leave.
Hampson and co are abusing you. There is no love from them towards the club or the supporters. There isn't much in many football boardrooms, but few try to deliberately ruin their clubs.

I've not gone today because I've been over at Hereford for the RiverFest final.

Well you made the right decision. Performance wise it was right up there with the defeat at Shawbury. Their first goal was the result of some of the worst defending I've ever seen. Once the second went in it was game over. We didn't have a shot on target until the last ten minutes. Highgate mostly as horrible as last week but had other chances to score and, sadly, deserved to win. Confirmation, if was needed, that there are better teams than Worcester City in this league.

I didn’t go. Really didn’t feel like standing in the cold for 90 minutes after last week’s performance. Looks like I made the right choice.

Coventry Sphinx, beaten 5-1 at the VG back at the start of October, are now above us in the league table, having won every game since.

I didn't go because John Snape is clueless. Wayne Thomas should be given the job before our season is over by Christmas

Another awful performance away from home. Bar the last 10 minutes we were second best throughout. Playing sideways on a muddy pitch meant we got caught in possession time after time after time - yet we still didn't learn. Highgate's nos 4 and 8 bossed the midfield where we were lightweight, outfought and out thought, and where we had no penetration. The gift of the first goal was due to Gwynne and Thomas leaving the ball to each other, and their player said thanks ! Gwynne looked a bag of nerves, Thomas looked off the pace, and Tyler Weir looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. Highgate fully deserved to win, they adapted to the conditions better, and with better finishing might have scored 5 or 6. It's a worrying time.
The highlight of the afternoon was an old photo in the clubhouse of a 1973 Highgate team with the great Nobby Clark as manager. Says it all really.
By the way, I saw Layland and Wilcox there but not Hampson nor Pinches. Were they at Sixways or pitchforking Parsonage Way ?

A slight correction to Julians comment - we had 2 shots on target that I noticed... on being Forsyth's effort in the first half, the second being the goal.
In a twisted way, you could say that's a 50% shots on target@:goal ratio... but we weren't at the races today, and better performances than that are needed.
Bad game, bad City performance, bad result. Not a ground I'd rush again to either!

Forsyth's effort got blocked (seemingly by a hand) before it got anywhere near the goal. Reynolds scored in the last ten minutes. I rest my case m'lud.

The result and performance shows the joint management team are have failed in addressing key areas in the sides deficiencies that have been apparent . The goalkeeper has been poor all season, problems in the centre of the defence and lacking a decent left back, the obsession of playing two wingers leave you light in midfield and we get over run. Our joint managers have struggled to get a side together to challenge the top sides in this league, and look to be falling away and the discipline side is a worry, and we must have the best budget in the league. We must see improvements if we are going to be in the shake up at the end of the season, with two tough games over Christmas against title chasing Bromsgrove Sporting.
