Just to say there's a real match taking place tomorrow, vitally important to the club that we continue to progress in the Vase. Adaggio the main threat?

I said I wouldn't post on here again, and I am not going to in regard to anything controversial, but I would just like to wish City all the best for tomorrow. My stance prevents me attending any Vase games, even away ones,as the gate money is split etc but I know how much it would mean to some of my friends to have a good run so I genuinely hope all goes well.

I was a big fan of Adaggio when he played for City. He’s only 29/30 now (I think), so he’s still got a couple of years of good performances in him. Any team in this division would be lucky to have him. I’m home alone tomorrow, so I think I might just be attending.

Having crap refs at this level is pretty standard. But the "physicality" this one is allowing isn't going to end well.
Not taking advantage of the first 15 minutes of dominance could cost us.

Highgate played better than we did in the first half, even though they’re a bit dirty.
We were robbed of a penalty about 5 minutes in though.

So that's the Board's financial master plan down the shute then. Win the league by miles + get to Wembley in the Vase + the fans flooding through the turnstiles to see this miracle = Breakeven budget.

No Niels, you are wrong. That was to equal a loss but not as bad as last years !! Its nice to know that the Board have failed yet again, and are now guaranteeing a financial loss for FY18. inexcusable in any other situation, but I guess the true supporters dont care.

I feel like i’ve wasted my Saturday afternoon. We we were outplayed in both halves. Poor defending again. Highgate didn’t turn out a great performance, they were just better than us. You can make the excuse that we were denied a penalty and a goal that was incorrectly (imo) declared offside, but we still played poorly.
I counted 5 yellow cards for Highgate. I hope they don’t always play such unsportsmanlike football.

Some of you talk like WCFC have some divine right to win. It’s cup football and you win some, you lose some.

Which is why you don't stake your financial forecasts on a Cup run!!

Because the Chairman has already told us in the Worcester News.

I'm glad I've had the drive home to calm down. That was not the performance of a side who seem to assume they will win every week and had some kind of pre-ordained path to Wembley. Only Hayward earned his wages in both halves. Mind you, man of the match by a country mile was the spinelessly inept Mr Hodgson, who couldn't shake off his pink markers all game and bottled every decision. Outsmarted ultimately by an efficient but limited side who did a number.

I'm used to bad refs, but this was another level. Happy to book for timewasting and dissent, but elbows and violent tackles were acceptable???

Some of you talk like WCFC have some divine right to win. It’s cup football and you win some, you lose some. No, it’s just very disappointing to be outplayed by a team who were below average at best. Both teams were poor, and the side who were least poor ultimately won the game. After watching a game like that for 90 minutes, it doesn’t leave you in high spirits. Were you there today?

When are we going to figure it out, that when you're in the 9th tier of football, and in the FA Vase, all you're left with are the refs that haven't been promoted up the pyramid. Any part-time ref who was even half decent would have been involved in a FA Trophy game today. City chose pub football , so we either whinge and accept it, or figure out how to deal with it. They are crap for both sides, not just one.

And you know the club has because? Less than a month ago the Chairman was quoted as saying: “As long as the team keeps winning, the gates hold up and we get a run in the FA Vase it will be a lot more economically viable to have dropped down. The drainage (of the club’s cash reserves) has been vastly reduced."

I was warned that Highgate were a horrible team and I wasn't disappointed. I never seen so much poor behaviour including bad tackles, diving, feigning injury, haranguing the referee individually and en masse. The ref was weak and they spotted it early and took advantage. No. 3 never shut up from start to finish - vile little s***. Ref spent most of the game running backwards chased Benny Hill-like by a pink horde.
City were average at best and missed a number of good chances. Why does Smith continue to play and why was our new CB playing at right back. Reynolds was lucky in that his first booking was borderline red and then he left his foot in on the keeper.
Sadly City are not good enough.

I have to agree that we are simply not good enough - out of the Vase after 3 rounds and 7 points off the top of the MFL tells its own story. As far as I'm concerned today's defeat represents failure - I'm sure the management said pre-season we could have a really good run in this competition and clearly it's something the Chairman was expecting. After all the disappointment of the last six months should we now be prepared to accept that we're just a top five MFL side?

Reynolds didn't leave his foot in on the keeper, he was actually pushed into the keeper by one of the defenders, and I think it was his knee that made contact. If anything there were decent grounds for a penalty for the push.

Would you mind awfully stop being a Yellow streaked coward and answering at least SOME of the questions you’ve been asked from about 10 days ago? Or are you just here to utter spurious nonsense and defamatory remarks when you feel like it?

A feisty if entertaining old game. Highgate were very niggly but could play when they wanted, whilst the ref was inept, in particular in dealing with their play acting, and not doing anything when they surrounded him en masse. Even at this level, the game was far too big for him to referee, as he looked scared and overawed by the occasion. But at a self imposed level 9, what can we expect ?
Having said that, we were the makers of our downfall, by missing chance after chance mostly through individual greed, and a lack of quality with the final ball. Sarmento and Reynolds both shot when a simple sideways pass to Hughes would have resulted in tap ins, and Tyler Weir missed a great chance with just the keeper to beat. Hughes was unlucky having a " goal " wrongly ruled out for offside. Snape did the correct thing in subbing Reynolds who was getting increasingly frustrated as the game wore on, as a red card looked to be looming. I thought that Jordan Stoddart had a good first game, and looked very solid.
If today's match was feisty, then I've a feeling next week's away League match at Highgate might be x-rated. It'll make Joshua v Fury look like Larry Grayson v Julian Clary !

After all the disappointment of the last six months should we now be prepared to accept that we're just a top five MFL side? You really think City will finish in the top five? We have the New Year crisis yet to come, the termination of the contracts of any players being paid anything more than expenses, noises from the board about the need to cut to break even in the face of dwindling attendances and the failure to attain planned revenue from cup competitions and the cost associated with the Red Herring Arena being higher than expected. Oh ye of too much faith,..
