Today we plumbed new depths. Not only were SNA a poor side, they weren't fit, weren't interested and had nothing to offer. Yet we still couldn't beat them. Should have been 10-0 not 1-1. The fact that Mr Imbecile of the ref list couldn't remember what he was supposed to do when it was a clear penalty, twice, is bad, but it shouldn't have been a case of relying on spot kicks.
This was bad, totally dominating a very very limited team but not taking the chances. I don't know what Josh Sarmento had for breakfast but it seemed to have a bad effect on his football brain, if he gets more than 3 out of 10 in the paper I shall cancel my subscription.

The only plus for me was that Hughesy didn't get sent off. SNA's number 2 kicked him at least 4 times with nothing from the ref. Amazing control from Hughes.

teej is right - SNA were a very poor side indeed who offered nothing - bar one shot, which was enough - yet we still couldn't beat them ! The standard of this league is a notch above park football, and we should be blowing these teams away, like Hereford did last year, but we aren't. The returning ( how are we staying within the " balanced " budget ? ) Wayne Thomas was coasting through the game at the back, when he gets himself stupidly sent off for raising his hands to their striker whilst lining up to defend a corner ! Brainless play, and the way a frustrated Lee Hughes was charging about, I thought that a second yellow was coming his way also !
Following Danks equally stupid sending off last week, the wheels are coming off the wagon. Dropping 5 points to two teams who wouldn't have won the Worcester Saturday Prem 25 years ago just shows how far the club has fallen. If the Hampson / Layland masterplan remains one of " win games and they will come ", then like most plans of theirs, it's going to end in financial tears.
Alienating what support there is with financial buffoonery is one thing, but disheartening what support remains with performances like this will only hasten the club's demise.

Pity we can't say that about Thomas, Zeke. But even with ten men we should have won comfortably. It's hard to believe the players weren't sufficiently motivated after last Saturday, but by the end they could barely string two passes together. I wonder how the management will explain this one away?
I see that Bromsgrove won again and kept another clean sheet. After dropping five points in a week against sides at the bottom of the table even second place in this league seems unattainable. Sherwood Colliery - an accident waiting to happen?

Some interesting other results today to put things in perspective....Coleshill lost 5-4 at home to Stourport, Cov United drew 3-3 with Shawbury, Bromsgrove won again and Sphinx the awful beat Rocester, and Quorn did Lye 3-0. Mind you, Sphinx beat these last week.

Who ? Pretty certain he means Matthew Gardiner. I was at Blackpool yesterday, but my regret about not being able to go to the game turned to relief when I heard about what an abysmal display City put on. I have limited patience watching my team play in this division, and this bad spell isn’t helping matters. Poor management and a ridiculously wide gap between the quality of the players need fixing immediately. I should be at the cup game next week, but if I don’t see an improvement then I’ll probably take a couple of months off going. I don’t get excited about going anymore, not with this team. |

Forgot to say, Hughes needs to hang up the boots immediately. Other than ego, I can’t see why he keeps playing himself at his age. Snape is equally to blame for allowing it too.

That was a pretty standard manager response tbh. Just used a whole lot of words to say ‘we were unlucky’.
That’s not what fans want to hear though, not after 2 consecutive poor games. Give us a reason to be confident ahead of Sherwood Colliery.
