City up 2-0 at 55 minutes in. Reynolds and Birch were the scorers. Both goals came with a few minutes of each other about 10 minutes in.
Birch had to go off not long after he scored. He seemed quite upset.
Palmer’s in goal, and doing a pretty good job tonight. Fishwick and Reynolds in fine form too.
Interestingly, Hampson is not here tonight.

Got a feeling we may regret missing this chance to fill our boots tonight against the worst team I have ever seen. Should have been at least ten, the keeper has made four good saves and we've missed so many chances. 5-1 doesn't seem enough from tonight. A long time since I've seen such poor opposition, the defending was comical at times and the ref did well to keep ten of them on the pitch. City didn't need to get out of first gear.

They were pretty awful. After the third goal, a fight almost broke out between the Sphinx defenders. Says a lot about the kind of side they are.
Anyone know why Hampson wasn’t at the game?

I tend not to notice Hampson. His presence is irrelevant to me. More interested in football.

My first venture to see the City this season and was pleasantly surprised. Seems ultra critical when you've scored 5 but the decision making/ final ball was sometimes lacking in the final 3rd. That said I see Cov are mid-table so bodes well for the rest of the season.
As for Hampson, who cares where he was - never does anything useful for the club, so would be good if he stayed away permanently!!

I agree with the Hampson sentiment, but it’s the first home game in a long time i’ve been to and he not be there. I just wondered if it signifies anything.
Griffiths did a really good cross today to set up Reynolds’ second goal. He’s still terrible though.
Bottom of the table Shawbury are next. That should be fun.

Strange that you can go home after seeing your team win 5-1 and still feel disappointed. We should certainly have scored more and the management can't be best pleased that we let them score. But I would guess there were a few City players carrying knocks tonight and in fairness I can't fault anyone's commitment. I would imagine one or two will be rested next Saturday.

I think, with some of the challenges seen so far, we're going to have knocks throughout. Limping off the pitch is commonplace this season. Hughes leg gash on Saturday was terrible.

An underwhelming 5-1 win... Weird...

Ah well: that's two Coventry clubs who've parted company with their manager after defeat at our hands!

Wonder if his fat son the keeper will go too?

He was taking some stick from his own defenders. Almost fisticuffs at one point.
