Well that's that. Awful error for the first and an inevitable second, against a very cynical and niggly team. Impressed with Albert Alexandru but the rest of the midfield didn't have the desired impact. Lazy from Baldwin at times, nowhere near the work rate needed.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact I had driven 50 miles to get there I would have walked out before the end. I thought we were dreadful.

Disappointing lack-lustre performance: and what an awful ground to get to.
Not the best night I've had at a football match.

I didn't think we played that badly... midfield wasn't up to it tonight though. I think it might have been the issue of a few too many players having injuries though.
Of course, John Snape will be blamed so no real point trying to be reasonable on here anymore.

We came up against a team that was a little bit faster, a little bit better and clearly more physical than anything else we've encountered this season. We weren't awful last night but it demonstrated that, even at one level up from the MFL, you need better players.
I hope FA Cup income from this round or beyond didn't form part of the Board's budget plans for this season.

If they did have any then budgeting for any cup income beyond that from the rounds you are bound to play in would be outwith the normal assumptions under which a football club budget should be prepared.
If you do assume cup success then get knocked out at the point of entry then, other things equal, your budget is blown. Being conservative any cup success allows a little bit of a reserve for the rest of the season and might permit a little extra spending to build on any success later in the season.
Given what happened last season and the "whoops apocalypse" moments in March then one can only assume that the budget for last season was too optimistic which continued the pattern from previous decades. It would be difficult to believe that the spots on the leopard have changed this season.
On another point an exit before the first qualifying round shows how far the club has declined in the past decade. Frankly it is has been pathetic to watch the utter ineptitude (or whatever you want to call it )of the "Directors".

This result was no surprise and going into a game with so many key players missing, it showed how the squad needs additions and struggled to match the more physical and streetwise Chasetown. A observation of games seen so far the centre backs are slow will be exposed against better opposition, in midfield Nathan Hayward looks decent and Brad Birch seems to be over stretching going into challenges and a mistimed one could be a sending off , which has resulted in a three match ban. Matt Reynolds looks to be a top signing and will score plenty of goals at this level. Danksy looks sharp and well worth a place in the side, its only his temperament will let the side down, James Baldwin looks dangerous on the wing, but needs to improve on his work rate on the tracking back. Jamie Smith a player who I have always rated who was bombed out to Droitwich Fc by Carl Heeley gives the side width down the left wing with his decent left foot. The cup defeat will give our joint managers a reality check to see where we need to improve on currently and in the future, we are unbeaten in the league and have a busy schedule over the weekend stating with a home game against Loughborough University and play Coventry United away who play at Coventry Rugby club and looks a decent stadium on Monday 3pm kick off. I hope Aaron Brett can get some game time in over this bank holiday period and was disappointed he didn't start up front with Mark Danks in the replay. Hope to see a good number at Coventry, it was three years ago we were at the Ricoh with one of our most memorable games and getting national coverage, how things have changed on and off the pitch.

On reflection how many times have we gone out of the fa cup to lower graded opposition over the years? Quite a few. This time we went out to a team from a higher league. No shame in that. We have to accept we have sunk a long way. We can now concentrate on the league as they say
