You guess right! Aparantly we don't need anyone "external" at the moment as "we have enough players to look at."Less than a week later we are paying some one else's cast off yet again. We cant hold onto decent imported players and there are local players who would play their hearts out just for the love of it and not for the cash.

At this stage of the season in a dogged relegation fight, I can understand why Snapper is reluctant to throw in young kids. However, I think irrespective of whatever division we're in next season, young local players will be given a big chance and opportunity, as if we are to ever set a break even budget, that will be all we can afford.

The problem with that is if we stay up by the skin of our teeth he may be inclined to justify more of the same next season?

I think we need to differentiate between "young kids" and "local players" as they are not the same thing. I can remember a time when the likes of Simon Moverley, Chas Jones, Nigel Russell all played a handful of games, typically when we were going through a lean period. Okay, that was 20 plus years ago, but if Snapper thought this was worth pursuing I'm wondering why it hasn't happened.

I see Nige on a regular basis, speaks fondly of playing alongside the likes of Carl and playing under George Rooney

Local Players who cost nothing or players sat in the stands costing us something, I know which I would be using at the moment !

I mentioned young kids as opposed to local players as that's all that Snapper has mentioned in his dealings with HOW Academy, that's all. I too remember George Rooney bringing in the best of local league players such as those jupu mentioned plus the likes of Ian Cottrill, Brian Mogford, Dave Gunnell. The biggest difference between then and now is the massive decline in the standard and competitiveness of local football. Local sides such as Metal Box, YMCA, Archdales, Northwick Manor, all possessed some very good local players capable of stepping up to play at the City's level. Saturday football now is nowhere near as strong, and there are far fewer players good enough to step up.

Local football could mean players at Droitwich, Pershore, Malvern or Stourport, not Worcester League.

I'm guessing nothing ever came of this? What are you talking about, we've signed a Gambian and a Zimbabwean on loan...
