i hope that the playing budget is not being exceeded........I may have said this before. The managers were given a budget, and they are sticking to it. It isn't being exceeded.

Well clearly they are exceeding budgets. Hampson has already told the Worcester News that the club is still making losses. Or has Hampsons " Balanced budget" already gone out of the window?

Hampson's plan, written onthe back of a fag packet, goes like this.
Overspend on the team + stroll the league (people will come if the team is winning and scoring lots of goals) + win the trophy = Break even

Sean Geddes moved from Sutton Coldfield Town to Evostick South side Market Drayton Town earlier this month.

teej is correct. They are mates, it was just "banter" and their use of social media will change from now on. I suspect that Birch will be given a final warning, as 2 red cards and bad publicity does the club and himself no good. He can obviously play, but has to channel his aggression, think a bit more, and just let his football do the talking. John Snape has been saying that maybe an experienced keeper is needed. At last night's game, the talk was of Nathan Vaughn returning. If that happens, only 8 more, and we've got the Coventry cup team ! i hope that the playing budget is not being exceeded........I may have said this before. If Nath comes back I would eat my hat. He is playing for a conference national team.....cannot see him dropping down to us, at his age I think playing what he can at that level is what he will want

Overspend on the team + stroll the league (people will come if the team is winning and scoring lots of goals) + win the trophy = Break even Its worse than that, its Overspend on the team + stroll the league + win the trophy = vastly reduced losses, but still losses. Anyone who thinks that the wage bill is within budget is someone who believes what Hampson tells them. A bit like "We won't be asking to be demoted from National League" and "We believe in WCFC being a community club" and "We will raise funds through share ownership"

As with all numbers at WCFC Ltd ...... who knows ?
Perhaps the playing expenditure budget is ok, but the non playing budget is overspending hence we are still making a loss OR
The expenditure is meeting budget but the income budget is underperforming hence we are still making a loss.
Actual spend vs Budgeted spend - that is the question ?
Actual income vs Budgeted Income - that is the question ?

Even Layland Pinches and Wilcox won't know whether they are exceeding bufget, because none of them are given access to the management accounts. The management won't know, and the press officer certainly won't have a clue All any of us have is hearsay. What we do know is that the Chairman is failing in his pledge that there would be a balanced budget. There aren't that many variable costs in running the club, nor many variable income streams. I can say that they are well and truly exceeding wage budgets, as it's just as accurate hearsay as anyone else's.

The management are given a budget to work with by the board, as with any club.
The budget given isn't overspent. That's the in and the out of it. The budget could be a million quid, it could be a tenner. The point is, Snape and Hughes are not overspending what they were given.
It's almost impossible to know how much the club will make or lose this season. We don't know if 100 fans will turn up to the next home game, or 1,000. We don't know how far we will get in the Vase, how many scarves will be sold on the shop, or how many new sponsors we will get.
I'm not making a prediction as to if we will make [£x] profit or loss this season, because I personally don't know. The playing budget is within the set budget. That's a fact.

All this guff about budgets. Shawbury United, who beat us a couple of weeks ago, don't pay their players, and they're not alone in this league.

Teej, it is indeed guff. The level of secrecy around the club finances are such that only one person knows, and his head is deep in the sand. And we mere mortal shareholders will find out at an AGM some time in 2019 at the earliest.

Making a loss is a profitable business. You can shift the figures to another concern and avoid tax.

The managers may well be within their playing budget but if that is £1M a year then the overall budget for the Club is up Noboddy creek without a paddle or a rear admiral.

Fair comment. Whilst old enough to remember us paying fees for dross such as john Bailey and Jai Stanley, the signing of Connor Hughes was perhaps the worst of all. Paying 5 k for a player who we didn't need, two months before telling all the players that they've got to leave in a firesale, as we've got no money ! Another great piece of financial mis-management from the Board. Never mind, the Chairman is sorting out Parsonage Way tonight so we'll all be ok ?

I also remember us re-signing Jimmy Williams from Telford(?) for about ten grand. Let's just say he wasn't quite the player we had sold to Walsall a few years earlier....

One of the finest passers of a football we've ever had at the club, his vision and eye for a pass was way above the standard of the rest of the team. Trouble was he struggled with fitness, too many niggling injuries. I have wondered whether Connor Hughes was signed to deliberately use up what little money there was quicker, so as to accelerate the decline.

Richard Bachelor has signed for Highgate United from Stourbridge. He only moved to Stourbridge last week from Stafford Rangers but left without making a first team appearance as he was unable to commit to the travelling required.

Jai Stanley certainly was not dross, unfortunately he was crocked. He'd had surgery on one knee, and when we signed him he was likely to need surgery on the other knee. I remember Dave Boddy phoning me to tell me about the signing, and I did point out he was out with a knee injury "Don't worry" said Dave "It's not his worse knee!" I told Dave that it was akin to buying a quality car, which had a lapsed MOT and "a few known problems" It was a shame as he was certainly a player that was feared and respected at Moor Green, and rightly so.
