I discovered some interesting news about the development of a new stadium for Scarborough Athletic, which is on track for finishing next May. It will have swimming pools, a gym and sports arena, as well as being the new home for Scarborough Athletic. www.scarboroughathletic.com/ground/weaponnessScarborough Leisure Village will be home to an eight lane 25-metre swimming pool and learner pool, a four-court sports hall, squash courts, a 60-station fitness suite, an aerobics studio and a new ground for Scarborough Athletic, who play in the Evo-Stick First Division North. It was given the final green light by the local Council last December. The Leisure Village is being developed by Wrenbridge Sport on land at the town’s former Weaponness coach park. Elsewhere on the site will be two state of the art educational campuses.

Looks impressive. Must be great having a supportive Council like that. A telling quote in there which we should take strength from:
"There have been those who said this project would never happen, but we and our partners have never lost sight of our ultimate goal, which is to create a first class leisure facility for local people and a new football ground..."
Keep up the good work all and let's make Perdiswell happen.

my thoughts have always been why oh why did the council see common sense & when putting the swimmingpool at perdiswell why not develop the existing sports hall to combine both with the football stadium also incorporated, it would in the long run have been more cost effective as it would or could have been one build & with a little good planning have all parts open in the same period, oh forgot this is common sense... but we will keep fighting to get the ground back to Worcester (Perdiswell with hope)
shareholders need to get behind the ST so we can progress the right way not the way we are with this board as they are (some of the board need to go as they are not thinking of the club only their own gains)

Scarborough Athletic played their first match at their new home yesterday. For anyone wants to see what "stadium" means in the context of what Perdiswell might look like:
Well done to the club on getting back on home turf after so long in exile.
