It's all well and good Mr Bayliss saying the Council are looking at options, just in case Perdiswell fails but to quote Rob Crean at the recent meeting at the Whitehouse Hotel "all our eggs are in one basket because we only have one basket". So, even if an alternative site were found we don't have the money to put in a planning application for it. Basically then, if Perdiswell fails, were shafted.

Jem, you are the last person I want to argue semantics with but to suggest that a Club Chairman`s role is merely `to chair meetings (end off) is a bit disingenuous to say the least. You should have tried that one on the likes of Doug Ellis, John Moores, Jimmy Hill or Bill Kenwright all of whom I have seen at close hand.
No, an effective Club Chairman should - and usually is - the leader and driving force behind the Club. Perhaps over recent City history, he has adopted a specialist role as `peacemaker` although the present incumbent at Bromsgove is hardly well qualified for even that modest job !

Oh i know that! Mind you the likes of Dough Ellis were also majority shareholders, so they also owned the club. With WCFC and its archaic but workable constitution, that ownership is spread so thinly that a chairman will never be the owner too. But yes, in the real world, the chairman is usually the poor numpty who has put his head above the parapet and acts as spokesman, and usually gets his head shot off!!

About time we all ( especially the other Directors ) heard from Anthony Hampson exactly what his cosy chats with MarK Bayliss have been about ? I remember his appointment back in 2008 with disbelief at the time. Is everyone on the Board singing off the same songsheet ? This article of the time is an exercise in " where are they now " ? www.kidderminstershuttle.co.uk/news/3936270.Hampson_wants_a_united_City/

I do believe that. Having seen his TV appearance, and read his opening PR guff, personally I wouldn't believe a word he said anyway. Politically correct bland generalisations from another career politician. He wants to take the Party Politics out of Worcester ? From the principled man who moved from Labour to Tory ? From the principled man who is only in power because that political non entity Alan Amos ( first Tory then Labour then " independent " and now a Tory again), sided with the Tories when " independent " in return for a year as Mayor, and now he's Chairman of the Planning Committee. A murkier, dodgy bunch you wouldn't wish to meet, yet they control the Club's destiny !

THE city council's new leader says Worcester City FC should never have been offered Perdiswell Park as an option for a stadium - attacking the Labour Party for allowing it to happen.
Councillor Marc Bayliss has told your Worcester News he believes there are "lots of pieces of land" potentially available elsewhere which could prove more suitable.

That's fine but who is going to pay for the planning application for one of these plots of land. All our money has gone on the Perdiswell scheme.

If the Council pulls the plug on Perdiswell (and if they really did offer it as an option ) I would think the Trust have a good case to take to the Ombudsman (or whoever is the regulator) for compensation for all the money they will have wasted on the project.
I know the County Cricket Club threw mega-thousands down the drain chasing dreams of site development - often `encouraged` by the planners but then rejected - before the Premier Inn was built. The City Council are no friends of pro sport, believe me !

At the AGM Anthony Hampson stated he would be very willing to step down if anyone wanted to take on the role. Well someone did & guess what!

Councillor Marc Bayliss has told your Worcester News he believes there are "lots of pieces of land" potentially available elsewhere which could prove more suitable. Non of these other locations have got any chance of happening. It is a smoke screen designed to make it look like there are interested. The Tories have got no interest in the sheer number of people in favour of this as opposed to those against. They are not interested in fact. The mis-information put out by some people and one group in particular will at some stage unravel, at this point the PPP will lose all credibility, (if they have any that is). A very good number of people in the local area have now realised they have been hoodwinked. So for those of you who think Perdiswell is dead, it isn't. What is important in the here & now and support for next Saturdays game & getting people along. So please get as many people as possible to come along. If anyone can put up posters, I have plenty left, email me or I will be on Perdiswell in the morning at 10am with The Friends of Perdiswell BTW - Is the Banter Board now back to its former glory now that Lord Ealing is posting pictures again?

Yes, but he wishes he could make it to more games.

It is on its way back! Even I'm interested again Archie, can you request Lord Ealing to be at the FCUM game on the 5th March? I will invite him as my special guest. Free coffee and biscuits??

Simples, always ......by lies and deceit !
( Don`t know how that got there ........meant to type `by obfuscation and dissembling` - that`s how politicians describe it !)

He's more likely trying to shoot a councillor or two. His Lordship thinks Tories are crypto communists - far too left wing for his liking. And he feels that young Farage is too Europhile. He's no idea where Europe is, but suspects it's somewhere west of the Punjab and north of Rhodesia.

Can I put it on record that this Board has missed the delights of Lord Ealing for too long.
and can I ask his Lordship a question? Does he have a .eps file of the Supporters Trust logo?

It's all a political game to him, even if planning permission is granted, this guy will reject it anyway in order to ensure the perdiswell area stays as a conservative seat. I feel like what's the point anymore? We have no backing from this guy, other sites are a load of rubbish, the club can't afford another round of planning somewhere else. It's perdiswell or goodbye WCFC, and if it is goodbye then it will be just to save face with the tory voters for him
