Jimbo posted: "I DO NOT agree with Lord Ealing about The Bromsgrove Chairman regarding the demise of the WCFC bar, ( as far as I'm aware it was a run as a separate entity to WCFC ) & that was a historical fault of 'The Club'. Jon was am employee of the company, not the owner & was therefore responsible to his employers. Any blame should therefore be aimed at them." That's fair enough Jimbo. Believe it or not I am looking to the future, and I believe with people like Jem; Creaner; Rich Widd etc behind the scenes there is hope. However, we shouldn't forget the past. Prescott was part of the cabal that led to the disastrous sale of SGL. He might only have been "an employee" but that didn't stop him toasting the sale in champagne with the other clowns when the deal was done. Also I can't remember him raising his head above the parapet and questioning the likes of Boddy; Hallmark; Lancaster and Brown. Perhaps some support for the "troublemakers" could have redeemed him - but he stayed silent. And since the debacle have we heard any words of remorse? No. Not from him nor the other guilty parties. Shameful. I like the idea of us going to Bromsgrove for what I hope is a short stay. However, the idea of Big Jon being their irks me. I'm with you all the way Mr Claines

At the end of the day, we will be playing football at Bromsgrove for (hopefully) a realistic & acceptable rent. It matters not a jot who is 'behind the scenes' or indeed who is behind the bar. If it was Worcester's ground, then yes there would be argument for who was running the show. Did we ever have any concerns or interest about who was ringing the till bells in the Final Whistle or Aggborough Suite? - no. Plenty of decent pubs in Bromsgrove anyway. My question (concern?|) about playing at Bromsgrove is how will the pitch stand up to at least one game every Saturday with the possibility of midweek games also (because of normal fixtures and also postponements)? The Aggborough pitch has played well (this season) after we pumped more money into the KHFC coffers to get it sorted) but having said that, Bromsgrove may be to our advantage 'on the pitch' as I've often wondered if some of the opposition were inspired to raise their game because of the fact that they were playing at a Football League standard facility. If City can master the playing surface at Bromsgrove we could have a fortress Transport could be a major downside for travelling fans........as we know, Kiddy is easily accessible by train for all those 'northern' fans travelling down via Birmingham but Bromsgrove station is more of a jaunt away....... but we'll wait and see. On the transport side bus 144/144a/147 travel every 30mins or better, nice for those with a bus pass, and plenty of time for a drink or two in one of the pubs.I think I will do a re-con to find the nearest/best pub to drink in, The Red Lion looks good, but no sure how far to the ground from there.Something for me to do in the summer months

I think I will do a re-con to find the nearest/best pub to drink in, It's hard work but someone has got to do it! I genuinely feel like we have a better chance of good home results at Bromsgrove than we do at Kiddy, and we've not lost much at home this season anyway! As for the playing surface, it's not Wembley, but it's decent, if we end up having 2/3 postponed games a season due to the pitch being unplayable, so what? We're used to it, it's a part of watching lower level football. I went to watch Cardiff play today (it was a free ticket, don't blame me), and not being a regular at championship games, I was amazed at their squadron of groundsmen that appeared at half time, there must have been 8-9 of them that I saw... We have a bloke on his mobile being told what bits to stamp on from his mate in the stand.
