I'm going for a 1-1 draw
We did brilliantly there last season - but they are one of (if not the) best sides in our league this season
Draw would be a very good outcome

City could consider themselves unfortunate today. In a very even first half in which both sides played some great football, City looked more than capable of reversing the one goal disadvantage. Second half they totally overwhelmed the league leaders but failed to make all their pressure pay. In five seasons in exile watching the Lions, I have rarely seen them put in such disarray.
I made Danny Jackman MoM although Nathan Vaughan pulled off some great saves early on. No worries about this side APART FROM NEEDING A GOLSCORER !

Is this board dead now? Nobody bar Verner Tim and ady seem to post and debate has apparently gone out of fashion.

That would be a shame Dragon - as you suggest there aren't really other online mechanism to have a good debate and put forward views. But then again I would say that as I use it a fair bit!
Other clubs' fans do seem to use their forums extensively - Kiddy, Hereford, Nuneaton for example. And I know they get bigger support, but even so...

I don't think for a minute this banter board is dead, it's early days in the season and people are waiting to see what happens. Experience suggests that if we don't get a win soon there will be plenty of people posting their moans and groans! There are only a few of us who post when things don't seem so bad, and they are not so bad are they? On paper the strongest squad we have had for a while, Symo back, the Loughborough trio all signed up, Danny Jackman looking a real live wire in midfield, strength in depth in defence with Shab, Jacob Rowe supplementing the regular back four, another Keeper who looks good and some very interesting additions, Danny Uhlou looking very sharp and impressive when he comes off the bench. (I don't know how Carl and the others have pulled this squad together given our very limited budget). Think where we were this time last year! Yes I know we have still to get a win but I predict that will happen on Saturday and once this group of players have bonded together as a team I am confident we will be much nearer the top than the bottom of the table.

Like other exile fans I rely on the Banter Board more than another source to keep me up-to-date and give me a true reflection of what is going on. So thanks to those of you who are keeping the Board going.
From up here I have seen very positive close season activity and a good steady start to the playing season. I am pleasantly surprised how Carl, Matt and Snapper have been able to assemble such a good quality and good-sized squad with the budget constraints that the club is inevitably working within. While I know Carl & Co have a great knowledge of players and will be very persuasive in "selling" City to potential recruits they may not have the wages budget to always support their plans so it is really great close season work. It comes over to me that the Board of Directors and management team are working very closely together as a team just like they did at this time last season but then under even more difficult circumstances. Last year they took time to assess the new situation. This season there is perhaps less of the "unknown" and it may have made things a little easier. I was particularly pleased to see two signings from the Academy as well.
The good thing in the early part of the season is that the games come thick and fast and the new team will quickly gel and there will be playing opportunities for everyone. However, a good opening point against Stalybridge Celtic, an away mid week point at Oxford and a narrow away defeat to one of the best teams last year is OK by me. Experience tells me that an away point from a mid-week away game against anyone is valuable.

More often Boards are used as a "call to arms" over an issue at a club as information is provided direct by e mails from the club now and associated online sources. For instance on a related Board is the issue of Tamworth increasing prices for certain games (CITY INCLUDED) due to numbers of away fans increasing their costs for stewarding. I believe they plan to charge £17 for an adult to watch a Conference North game.

Us exiles just wait for news to be drip fed down the chain so nothing new there. But there seems to be a lack of passion for our Club at present. Is it because we are between crises rather than in the middle of one for a change ?

I suppose its just a case theres not as much going on in terms of events due to us not having a place to call home. Trust cannot update much with us waiting for these extra surveys to be completed and theres no comings or goings on the playing side.
