Thursday's Worcester News in their News Digest on Page 6 highlighted the concerns of the Residents with the regard to proposed new stadium at Perdiswell. Apparently Councillor Neil Laurenson had written a three page letter to the planners outlining their concerns. Is there anything we can do to counter their concerns?

Can we get hold of a copy of this letter? Then we can address the concerns. There are pluses to the concept. More activities for the locals, young and old. Some employment possibilities - even if much would be part time. A boost for local retailers. etc

Another article in 'Your Worcester News' today highlighting the fact that two local Green Party folk had said they opposed the proposal to build a stadium at Perdiswell. Why do they ever print a story about the people who are In support of the idea, there are a lot of them too. And why do they like to keep banging on about local residents having a petition with 1000 signatures against the plan but never mention that the Trust has a petition which is equal in size or even greater.
I know petitions are not the be all and end all of this thing but wouldn't it be nice if they printed an article which put a positive spin on what the Trust are trying to do.

They never get it correct the old worcester news.....they even printed the picture of nunnery way with a recent article !!
Funny how a large number of those against the plans are not against the swimming pool or in fact building a supermarket or retail park there instead !

Coming out with views before the plans/facts are available. Undermines any sort of credibility they may have had. Typical politician twoddle.
What a non story.

I really hope that those who have to decide yes or no to the stadium proposal visit Hoo Rd Kidderminster on a Saturday afternoon. This would clearly show that traffic is simply not an issue on matchdays. The objectors are Nimbys plain and simple.

Where is this "Little Perdiswell" that Green Party, Councillor Neil Laurenson, mentions in his letter? And what are the OTHER sites that WCFC have been offered to build a ground on?

Little Perdiswell is on the opposite side of Droitwich Road to the former Park and Ride site, next to Blooms Garden Centre.

Little Perdiswell? Nonsense.
Has anyone canvassed the opinions of businesses in the area? The Perdiswell pub; The Raven; even The Vine? It won't do their sales any harm. The WN won't do that though because a "shock horror" story sells papers, while a "it's o.k." news item dies on the page.
This is a terrific spot for a stadium. It's relatively sparsely populated; has space; has a history of sports activity and could be approached from several directions.
Surely WN owe the club a couple of acts of generosity? Now that "the project leader" is (I assume) no longer interested in WCFC's new stadium, I would have thought they are free to support what should be a great asset for the area.

Little Perdiswell is on the opposite side of Droitwich Road to the former Park and Ride site, next to Blooms Garden Centre. Sounds a better bet up there then, if the first option is rejected. Its years since I was in that area - but I do remember the Raven Pub.
