Two things struck me in there, firstly "One player “forgot” we had a fans match yesterday – is it any wonder Farsley beat us with attitudes like that!" Says it all really, if you don't care a hoot for the club then how can the club succeed. It looks like Ladak is finding the hard and expensive way that if players don't have that feeling of belonging, it ain't going to happen. Secondly, he thanks a number of people for their support, including fly-by-nights Westley and Atkinson, but doesn't mention Morrell Maison! Interesting. Strikes me that the man hasn't a clue really about non-league football and is muddling his way through large amounts of cash and generally pissing in the wind.

An awful lot said there.
1. Good signing of Mark Cooper (interesting specification for the role) 2. Sensible financial control to match revenues and costs until a new ground plan is deliverable 3. Recognition that it will be a tougher league next season
Certainly adds up to the recognition that non league football is a tough old game.

In an interview with Mark Cooper in Sunday's NLP he cited City (and Nuneaton) as having a higher budget than that he'll have to work with. Where did he get that "fact" from?

He probably made it up.

Could be based on information shared in the Boardroom. Either Preecey or DB (I cant remember which) said recently that some teams on lower budgets finished higher than us last year, and that City finished above some teams on higher budgets. If City officials have budget information on other Clubs, then I presume other Clubs like Kettering do as well.
Given that DB has said publically that next year's budget at the Lane is moreorless the same as last year, it wouldnt be difficult for Mark Copper to compare his allocated budget at Kettering against that at Worcester.

He probably made it up, we can all do it - Preecey has got a smaller budget than Mark Cooper, there you go its easy. Nuneatons budget is bigger than Hinckleys did you know? It makes good press and no one is going to deny such an inoffensive irrelevent comment.

Makes him feel better and buys him some leeway with the fans, he can always turn round if/when he fails and say that he had told the fans "we had lower budget than x or y". Truth is irrelevent it seems, and in any case this is the NLP reporting, that well known bastion of accuracy!

Yep - sounds a good call to me. Anyways, whatever the budget for any club is, you'll never hear a manager saying "I've got such a good budget I'm spoilt for choice!!" Every manager every season says the same things "the budget is smaller than I really need to be successful" and "We are two players short from having a successful team"
