Going to be a real challenge next term ... 3 ex. conf teams + a resurgent Telford (and full-time Kettering).
Hope we rise to the challenge.

it s going to be very tough! there s some well supported clubs, kettering, tamworth, southport, alty, barrow, telford, nuneaton. it s an embarrassment of riches compared to the conference south. hopefully this will be reflected in the attendance figures next season!

Once the full list of clubs is known for our division, can someone post it on here? Thanks.

alty and southport are going to be the toughest teams to beat in my opinion

Its tough every year with ex conference teams coming down into the Conf North. We've seen off full time teams like Grantham before now. Teams like Altrincham and Southport will have their own internal issues coming down into the lower division. It must be last chance saloon for the full time teams who will HAVE to get promoted to survive, and they can't all get promoted. I predict some fabulous falls from grace for a number of the big name clubs next season.

Yes I agree. You have to be good to win ANY league these days. The teams coming up are often the threat - look at Blyth this year. They're full of spirit and optimism, and play without fear. I still think we have a shout with a couple of astute signings. Let's fear no one.

Exactly, you start worrying about the opposition and your game and confidence goes out the window. We've got the best manager in the league, with a united boardroom behind him, and a good set of players who will work together as a team. Add to that the best supporters in the league (regardless of what one strange assistant manager might think) and we have the ingredients for a good season. Anyway, if we'd have won the league and got promoted, would we have wished we hadn't because the Conferene is a tougher league???

clubs expected to join Worcester City in Conference (bugger that Blue Square nonsense) North Shouldn't we call it A.P.L. North on that basis? (although I dont think that was the original name of the Alliance??)

(although I dont think that was the original name of the Alliance??) No, we shouldn't continue to refer to the competition as the "Alliance Premier League" (which was the original name) because the competition's name changed in 1986 to "The Football Conference". The A.P.L. didn't have the benefit of a sponsor in its early years so also did not have the burden of a sponsor's name being attached to the league name. My objection is to the frequently changing appellations due to changes of sponsors. Referring to various competitions by their proper names makes matters easier for anyone to understand and provides some continuity.

Agreed; and by the way the Conference website (yes, I know you might say they haven't had time to change it) still refers to itself as The Nationwide Conference!
Logically I suppose it still is until the very end of the season.

Me for one as with the majority of the squad consistently not proving good enough this season in a very poor division, more than two or three signings are needed as was a bigger clearout by AP. Oh by the way, I don't think AP is over confident with his aim of a top 10 finish next season !

Good to see that the sponsorship did have some impact then, if the league had become widely known as....... Let's face it, we (nearly) all call the league by the sponsor name, or at least we commonly did with the old Southern League, it was frequently the Beazer Homes or the Dr Martens. I never once heard last season's league referred to as Nationwide North though (that only ever appeared on results screens and in papers), and don't expect to hear Blue Square North next season.
