If there was one game I would have wanted to see this season, it was this one. Big respect to everyone who made it happen, hopefully Carts will get a few quid from it, and it will be a nice end to his playing career. I would also hope that Carts will stay in the game, he's got what it takes to be a very successful coach.

Heard a rumour that Widley has retired from football to devote his life to hairdressing.
Whilst it was very much a friendly I thought Rapid showed some excellent touches.

I would also hope that Carts will stay in the game, he's got what it takes to be a very successful coach. Carts is now a qualified P.E teacher, so this is his likely career, but I am sure he will still coach on a part-time basis if opportunities arise. Attendance was a little disappointing last night (321) but about £400 was made on the raffle alone, so hopefully Carts will get a few quid out of the night.

What a shame that Wildey has stopped playing. You could see he was rusty last night but he still has the touches. Both Stant and Ellis surprised me last night with there fitness and ability I only wish I had of seen them when in their prime. David Holmes did a decent job at the back as well. here is the official line up's there were a few guest appearances not listed. Worcester City | Bromsgrove Rovers | Danny McDonnell, Allan Davies, Dan Parker, Jon Holloway, David Holmes, Adam Webster, Andy Ellis, Pat Lyons, Mark Owen, Phil Stant, Adam Wilde, James Coates, Ian Cottrill, Tom Warmer, Nick Colley. | Tim Clarke, Darren Bullock, Richard Tompkins, Mark Yates, Carl Heeley, Nathan Jukes, John Snape, Martin O'Connor, Darren Grocutt, Keith Russell, Lee Colkin, Steve Ball, Wayne Dyer, Rod Brown, Phil Lloyd, Chris Taylor. |

I saw Stanty in his prime playing for Hereford United, fantastic work rate and great pace for a biggish lad. I saw him in his prime in the Crystal Rooms too, again fantastic work rate

A few weeks ago on CentralTV to coincide with the Anniversary of The Falklands War Stanty went back to the islands and even played (and scored) in match between the islands and a team from a visiting Navy ship.
It was an excellent and thought provoking prog.

rod brown came on for bromsgrove, finished 2-0 to bromsgrove with coates signalling a no ball instead of trying to save the 2nd . Preecey said in the programme carty has signed forms with us and might make an appearance if we need him or something along those lines. Yates came off around the 70th minute AGAIN.

Plus an Alan Davies short corner routine - however, I did not quite come off. THe Wilde/Davies short corner brought back some memories! The goal against Folkestone ( I think)

Heard a rumour that Widley has retired from football to devote his life to hairdressing. WHAT?! I've been looking at Eastbourne's fixtures all season to see if there was one I could be bothered going to!

I know I am being a bit dim here but why were two of City's current first team squad exposing themselves to the risk of injury outside a City first team match or training situation only a few days before a must win end of season match? What would have been said had Danny been ruled out on Saturday say? Unprofessional even if our play off chance is remote?

They were playing because they were low on players. Nic Colley was also asked before the game if he would play!

I was going to say the same thing, but didn't want to be charged with bringing negative comments about the management into the thread. To be honest, it was never going to be a serious game, and probably no more risky than a training session, less risky than a midweek reserve game, and a chance to get time on the ball. Having said that the reason Pittsy isn't playing in Big Match 5 is that he's got a cup final on the Sunday, and you can never quite tell just how competitive BM is going to be, BM2 and BM3 both saw blood drawn at various stages, Niels left a hell of a trench in the pitch after a heavy fall in one game and had to be withdrawn (metaphorically speaking!!) Although BM4 was a far more sedate affair

I recall listening to the commentary on BBC 5L on the Liverpool v Man U FAC tie last season at Anfield. Liverpool one up with 10 mins to go having used two subs. Mike Ingham (the BBC football correspondent) suggests that Liverpool should make an unforced substitution for some reason. I thought "amateur!". Was I wrong to think like that? This is the same point - it just seems odd like the comments before last weekends match from various sources that our play-off chance was over? Probably over yes but not over.

Personally, I think it is possibly one of those occasions when you breath a sigh of relief when everyone comes through OK, and reserve criticism for those few occasions when something does go wrong.

I think the point needs to made that there should be a thought process so that there is no repeat and a chance for something to go wrong.
I am sure that there is a reason why Webby and Danny were allowed to appear other than to make it XI a side but I can't think of a good one. Clearly a player doesn't need to play or train to get injured and miss a key match (just ask Kevin Beattie for one) but unnecessary exposure to risk of injury at any time strikes me as odd let alone at this time of the season.
My last word - promise!!

Yes but commentators, particularly on the radio just need to always have something to say, anything t osay, whether its relevent or not hardly matters. You can get away with letting the pictures do the talking on TV, but silent radio is a no-no. So talk bollocks to fill the gaps

Reference to earlier postings - Adam Wilde is currently playing for Eastbourne Borough. He played last week. I don't know if he still lives near Cambridge, but he certainly doesn't mind travelling a fair way to his clubs. Also, a request. Are there City supporters living near Bridgnorth who could give lifts to a City regular moving up that way?
