I think there may be a struggle to keep attendances up from here on. The apathy at the AFCW game was palpable....

A disused football ground at Nunnery Way alongside millions of pounds of development?

I predict a new open era at SGL with democracy and transparency coming to the fore. We'll move into the new stadium at Nunnery Way and in two or three years it will have four sides built, be hugely profitable and will be packed with appreciative supporters all chanting Hampson's name.

I predict a big gamble with the Club's future that may or may not come off. All the eggs are in the basket and have been for some time, I just pray that the gamble does not backfire.

I predict that the fickle "die hards" who are throwing their toys out of the pram will see things start to happen over the next week or so & slowly begin to return to the club. I also predict that no matter how much good news there is to embrace, they will return moaning & bl**dy groaning about every negative they can. I will also predict that the social club will begin to show a profit with virtual immediate effect, bearing in mind that I still think this loss has been a designed accountancy feature (which was all but confirmed last night). And I will predict that there will be an announcement regarding the catering contract very soon to ensure that is also a more profitable venture By the way Jeremy, I'm missing your words of wisdom today !!!

Jimbo. Does your crystal ball also predict the 3 Directors standing down in January as they have promised?

rushwickdon, I make no apologise for being a relative newcomer at only 11 or 12 years & I certainly make no apologise for not having the trait of being negative about everything. I am not an incognito club official, just an ordinary supporter who attends as many home matches as possible & an occasional away match. There are a few on here that know me & I can assure you that they would disagree with your misguided opinions of me as venemously as I disagree with your & many others' preconceptions of what the new board will achieve with our support !

creaner, read between the lines. I would predict that they will not all resign at the end of January The 12 candidates proposed by the board, left no room for any other SAG representatives. Besides which, J P. has stated quite clearly that he would like to stay on as a director to see the move to Nunnery Way completed. L B. was given a healthy mandate to stay on. D B. is totally committed. T P. I doubt anyone else on the board could or would want to cover his position.

We might have opposing views, and differing opinions, but at least you've got an opinion!! I can't stand lily-livered people who can't express an opinion.

But would would be more healthy for the new Board to co-opt people with wider interests such as community leaders and those with links to youth and the college/uni. It's fair to say that the old guard has had their day and should withdraw gracefully as thay had promised once the new regime was in place

JP hung on by the skin of his teeth, so far adrift of his colleagues that it was embarrassing. When even your "friends" can't vote for you, you know you're in trouble. LB will now be facing some very serious questions, he's a brave man for even wanting to stay on. DB likewise, Hampson and Hallmark made it very clear last night that they absolve themselves from any wrong doings of the former board, therefore the former Chairman has no choice but to carry the can of the new boards findings (inculding the findings of the auditor) TP does not need to be in a position of Director to carry out his tasks, especially as the Board had been presented with two (qualified) volunteers prepared to undertake his duties. I will also predict they will not all be told to resign at the end of January. Why , that was just a little sweetener put into the brochure to make people feel a little bit more comfortable when they were re-elected. I guess Simon Williams got a few little nuggets from Maslow, or maybe Drucker.

jimbo,
At no point, apart from in jest, have I said that you were a club official. But there are many factors here that cannot be overlooked- the main one for me being the mythical 950K that is going to appear as a profit share. And it beggars belief that this would be written into a financial plan- you may as well factor in monies that would be forthcoming when WCFC reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
Also, in the document that was presented as the new boards vision, it sets out how money is to be made once the club has moved to The David Hallmark Stadium in Nunnery Way. So that is OK is it, stagnation until then, haemmoraging money like it is going out of fashion?? WHAT ABOUT THE HERE AND NOW?? And don't say that they've only just been voted on, because some have been around for years.
If it were so easy to suddenly come up with a new board, as has magically happened in the last few weeks, then why not x months ago? As stated elsewhere, friends and associates of the "Gang of Four" are hardly likely to look for previous errors, let alone flag them up.
And where else would you find a board who actively encourage shareholders to vote AGAINST the clubs major sponsor being elected, a man who has put in over a hundred thousand pounds of his/his family's money in recent years? This after initially asking him to join the board too. Who ask shareholders to vote AGAINST Barry Ward, who has more football knowledge in his little finger than this lot combined.
So give the 'new' board time for what, exactly?
(Gets off soapbox)

rushwickden I'm just suggesting to support them and your team until such time (if it comes) that they don't deserve it. MAY BE, JUST MAYBE THEY WANTED TO KEEP THE OLD MEMBERS IN PLACE UNTIL FULL DETAILS ARE KNOWN, NOT FOR CONTINUITY BUT TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE IF THAT IS NEEDED. Remember, that last night A H clearly stated that there are things that do need investigating Oh here's another prediction I will not be wrong on....... There will be more parking spaces available near the ground today !

At the Trust meeting in the HK lounge, a young man who is attending the University stated: 'That he was surprised that the club was not represented on the occasion when all the clubs made their pitch to the new students.'
He was correct surely the club should be represented on these occasions. You never know it might just bring in a useful player or two.

Due to the clubs scheme with the Technical College, they have no interest whatsoever in young kids attending UCW or Sixth Form colleges in the area. Last year the captain of the England Schools Under 18 team played for Worcester Sixth Form, this year they have an England Schools representative defender and a England Schools representative striker, Sixth Form also have 3 players representing Worcestershire FA U18, along with good young players from Bromsgrove Rovers, Redditch, Kidderminster Harriers and Malvern Town. Every other club in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire takes an ointerest, but not City.
