WN Article"Chris Harvey, head of policy, said: “Despite all the gloom that is around us there are a number of businesses that are still trading reasonably well." Does the football club fall under the definition of "reasonably well"? How can they say 60 jobs when the project is nowhere near being approved by planners- unless we've got Tesco as the enabling development in which case it's a cert to be passed!

One thing I'm not sure of (actually many, but this one came to mind) - what happens when the planning app is turned down? Where does that leave the deals with St Modwen and Carey's? Does that mean we go back to square 1 - or will Carey's still have the right to throw us off SGL?

It was just kicked into touch, to coin a phrase.

This preposed amount of jobs is a standard 'spin jargon' used by planners. Every application from Halal slaughter house to 10,000 homes in Worcester comes with a 'it will create x amount of jobs' comment. It sometimes varies with the political climate ie, affordable houses, Muslims, environment etc.
What did surprise me (which shouldn't really) was Micheal Foster popping up with a comment. He distances himself when it looks negative, then has a comment in Labour pamphlet (sorry Evening news) when it comes to posiive developement. Come on our MP lets have your view on the matter.

Well I am led to believe, but arent totally sure but, Careys have a five year agreement and St. Modwen have a ten year agreement, and of course the contracts on the ground have already been signed havent they? There is no plan for what happens if after 6 years St. Modwen still havent got the planning permission they want. There is no plan for what happens if Careys decide that the next 3 years aren't going to very good for housebuilding, and pull out. There's only one plan, and that relies on the City Council planning committees doing a complete about turn, disregarding all the precedence, and going against their own Local Plan!!!

Remember the threats that Kays made when they wanted to extend their Bromyard Road warehouse? Also they promised a multitude of jobs, but only produced, if my memory is correct 2, when the fully automated warehouse came on stream. Now where are they?

I understand that the Carey's agreed price for SGL is dependant upon the planning permission for the 94/ 95 dwellings proposed for SGL being accepted. If it's not, then the deal at the agreed price is off, and the ground value is then up for re-negotiation at a current market price, so back to square 1 is the answer.
