Post by Tony is not to despondent now. on Sept 17, 2008 16:27:21 GMT
Having returned to this country after a holiday on the 16th of this month, I was expecting to see the notice of the AGM in my post.
It is conspicuous by its absence.
Another Broken Promise by the Chairman!!!!

WAIT!!! The Chairman has promised to go on the offensive this week, with news that the supporters have been waiting to hear. Maybe its that the 24 hours in which to put the website back online are now up! Or could it be that the AGM has been called and that Companies House have the accounts for the last two years. Or could it be the earth shattering news that the planning application for the new "landmark" ground has been submitted, albeit 3 months after it was promised at the shareholders meeting. None of this will have supporters or shareholders swinging from the rooftops with joy, just muttering "about bleedin' time!" And none of them are what you could call "positive" news, just stuff that should have happened when it was promised, ages ago!! I hope I haven't stolen our Chairmans thunder!!!

The accounts are still not at companies house, despite the board claiming they are. I hope all those who sent letters have received a reply like us.

from that link it doesn't seem that much of a financial penalty for late returns or even prosecution considering the overall "alleged" debt we owe. lesser of two evils perhaps?

He's been on the offensive alright this week - his contempt for the club and its supporters is downright bloody offensive!

The penalty might not be much - but even if it were 10p it's unnecessary. That's what secretaries and accounts are for. If there's no one in the firm who can get the books done on time - then get an accountant in who can. Better to spend the imminent fine on a professional who can sort things out. That way you avoid raising worries within departments of the revenue. It's at best sloppy. Get the books in on time, don't get fined and use the money wisely. As a shareholder and a fan I find this disgraceful, and downright suspicious.

Why do I get the feeling that when Mr Boddy explains why the accounts have not been presented at Companies House, it will be somebody else outside of the club who will be blamed?? If not, then he'll blame it on the ground move, this ground move is always a good way to make things look complicated , although as the accounts should have been done many months ago, I hardly think it can take the blame for this one!! Nah, some other sucker will take the blame, nothing to with incompetence in HIS Boardroom!!!

Did I read somewhere that Boddy is trying to get an independant Chair to run the expected AGM?
And will the independant have a brief to suppress any business that might expose the board?
Reason? He couldn't run himself.
The pathetic efforts I have witnessed from him give me no confidence.

The big question is: Is all this stalling and mis-truths a reflection on his incompetence, or is there an agenda behind it?

He'll have a job, its unconstitutional and believe me, an AGM will not take place with any unelected person chairing the meeting

I wager that they'll say that the Accounts are suffering from a nasty bout of Gilmore's Groin and should be back in the Companies House squad within 24 hours

Sorry Davina I only work with the bleedin' obvious!!! Do you realise that through all of what has been going on at WCFC during the last 3 years, including the Preece/Morrison saga, that not once has the Board been at fault. Not once have they made a mistake, its always been somebody elses fault, mainly the supporters of course!! Even the Social Club, can't turn a profit, but is that the fault of Jon Prescoot??? No, he's seen fit to be a Director of WCFC, no, its the supporters fault for going elsewhere. Its the planners fault for not giving us a ground earlier, anyone but the Board.
