Good pics Snappy!
As to the attendance, they must have counted all the players, UEFA officials, ball boys and girls and club staff to come to that figure. A bit disappointing that more local schools weren't there to see what afterall was a great honour for the City to stage the game.

Good thought Althom - A good opportunity missed there to get shed loads of school children down to see the game - free of charge as well!!!

Russia must be top of the group now then as they beat England 2-0 at The Bescot on Tuesday evening 7:45 ko. The kick off time prevented many schools from attending, as transport on coaches would have been difficult as most local coaches would be doing the school run. A kick off time of either 2 or 6 pm would have been better for schools and 7 for those of us working.

With a little promotion to the schools, such as a press release to the local papers that it was free and school parties would be more than welcome, then it would up to the schools to figure wehether they could organise it or not.

I assume that UEFA were responsible for marketing the match, which would explain the lack of joined up thinking and bums on seats/ feet on terraces.

Yes but in the grand scheme of things, a game like this matters not a jot to UEFA. Any competitive game at The Lane should matter to WCFC.

1. Great pics. Thank you. 2. Judging by the number of dark suits around the attendance could well have been boosted by a number of spooks.
