I fail to see the humour.

So we won't be seeing (or not seeing) Harkness in the darkness tomorrow - shame.

I don't think it's meant to be funny.
The article on the City website says that following discussions after the game on Saturday it was mutually agreed that he should go (or words to that effect). On the WN website Richard Dryden talks about one or two people not working hard on Saturday, though he quite rightly did not name names.
Makes me think that Harkness was one of those who were not working as far as the boss was concerned.
That certainly looked to be the case to me on Saturday. Even the two mates I took with me (not normally City followers and not likely to come back again after that show) singled Harkness out as 'not looking interested'

Mark, Daza B was being sarcastic (see Colley thread).
If Harkness knew his loan spell was ending then it would explain his lethargic display, rather than the other way round.

After his appalling display on saturday, I cant say I am too distressed. Jon Munday is a far better player and he gives his all, pains me to say it about a Harriers player.

Harkness was almost invisible on Saturday, and on that showing we would be better employed, if we need a loan player at left-back, getting Kevin Spencer back. At least he was interested, and of course he had that wonderful long throw.
