You guys know I tell it straight. That was shite tonight. Out-thought and out-manoeuvered by a team that worked for each other as opposed to a bunch who looked like they'd not met at times. Felt sorry for Brainy as he was almost on his own out there at times tonight. Yes it was a poor pen but besides that he looked pretty sharp. This is probably the lowest on-pitch point this club has ever got to now in terms of league position and quality of performance, and I'm not sure Ash knows how to turn it round. Talks a great game and is a reporter's dream, but I ain't seeing that talk translating into performances and results.

Can't deny that everyone worked hard but winning another penalty wouldn't have won us the game. Credit to Coventry, they aren't going to win our league based on what I saw, but they looked in control for most of the 90 minutes.
At best we have a set of players who are capable of finishing mid-table in the MFL. But on the basis of just one win in our last 8 league games we look more like relegation candidates.

Can't disagree at all. Coventry like us, were very limited and hard working, but far better organised. Brain and Adaggio ( who sadly looked past it ) were isolated up front for 90 % of the game by what must be the worst and most paceless midfield in the league ( Lockett excepted ), who were permanently 40 yards away from our two strikers. Our sole attacking threat ( which Coventry realised after 2 minutes ) was to get the ball out to the overlapping English. As soon as we lost the ball, which was generally very quickly, they put the ball where English should have been time after time, dragging the admirable Jones out wide. Vincent did nothing to change this obviously deficient tactic, instead preferring to berate the ref, who for once wasn't bad last night.
Playing two small strikers up front, meant we had no aerial threat, and without a mobile powerful ball carrying midfield getting anywhere near them, we hardly looked like scoring, other than the penalty when the forward running Lockett got brought down in the box. Jones, Hawkins, and Hall at the back all looked competent, but the midfield offered nothing, and I'm struggling to think of a worst collective 4 man midfield in my lifetime. On this showing, I think I'll take mid table now, as we look far more certain to be involved in relegation than promotion.
The crowd of 203 was more than this performance deserved, and the faith of the hard core is getting severely tested.

What a truly miserable state of affairs on the pitch. I really struggle to muster up the enthusiasm to go to Bromsgrove to watch this anymore, and I hate feeling like this. Unfortunately, it looks as though i'm not the only one, by last night's attendance. This level of football is crap to watch, even moreso when your team aren't very good at it.

Your so right Lee, why dont we just throw the towel in and say sod it ?
Not in some peoples make up !
Unfortunately too many people get on players backs for a miss placed pass etc at home games and spend majority of time winding up the opposition bench, it's gone from being a fortress two seasons ago to a place nobody wants to play at.

alwaysnextyear not sure what game you saw, ref was not to bad first half, but blew it second half as he was frightened to give anything to the City after getting so much grief at halftime & throughout the second half by their players & management team, he should have upped his performance last night as he was being watched by so many refs as it was their night out, & yes i was stood talking to a qualified ref who said the ref bottled lots of decisions & was not doing a good job.also you say the midfield were bad, I & a lot of others think Chris Withington does a great job most matches & did great work last night.
teej totally agree on Mewies, spoke to Josh last night & said i could not understand why he was not started with Lockett as they have played together through the youth teams & work well together.

Good job all those refs turned up as the attendance would have been well under 200 otherwise. I hope they paid to get in.
Incidentally the reason why the VG is no longer a fortress probably has something to do with the quality of the players we have now compared to two years ago - the likes of Forsyth, Weir, Hayward, Birch, Birley, Hughes, Reynolds. Really there is no comparison.

Well done, when will people realise we are Worcester City of the MFL.
We dont have the funds to bring in the likes of those players, it's about time people got their heads out the clouds and realised where we are.
It wont get better staying away or constantly moaning

The "Worcester City of the MFL" is not an enjoyable place or experience to go and watch a football match at right now.

I have to agree with all that's been said above: I was mightily disappointed, and am beginning to think that a round trip of 40 miles on a dark, wet night is a waste of money.
Withington worked his socks off (as usual) but tried to do everything himself; we need another quality midfielder - the likes of the man who's just left!
As for the penalty miss - why didn't Lockett take it: he was the man fouled and Brain had already missed one previously.

As a club we are in a league where we have about the 9th biggest or 11th smallest (depending if your glass is half full or empty) playing budget. Based on this we should expect to achieve a mid table status. All our players are paid correctly and on time, unlike other clubs. We don’t offer questionable tax dodges such as reduced car leasing etc. When we have “big players” then they attract attention from clubs that can offer more such as happened with both Birch’s, Tyler, Reyno, Stodds, Vaughnny, Hayward, Hughsey and Fossy. We still do have players that are “big players” and could arguably be playing at a higher level for more money but want to play for WCFC. Myself, like all of you, want us to win every time, want to see good football played and be proud of our team. We all also know that at any level of football, especially non-league where few players are on contracts, if your team is doing this and over achieving for the clubs playing budget then bigger budgeted clubs will come in for your players. The only way we can overcome this is for the players to want to play for Our Club more than earn 20 or 30 quid a game more. I’ve been fortunate enough to have the privilege of being in the changing rooms and seeing behind the scenes for a few of seasons now. From this position I have seen a totally different side to things. One thing I do see which can’t be seen from the outside is how they feel and react to results and performances. This season the group of players we have are more united and dedicated to each other, the management and especially the club than I have seen before. They all want to play for Ash, each other and Our Club. The management and players all know the weaknesses and work hard to rectify the problems. We started the season with weaknesses in defence, that was rectified. Then we failed to convert chances, progress has been made there. Now we have lost our talisman in midfield the whole team (players and management) are working on that. As fans we have to realise our financial limitations of our club and if we want to attract/retain the quality of player to achieve higher things we have to make them feel wanted and appreciated.
Basically the club can’t give them the financial reward others can so it’s up to us as fans to give them a fan base they want to play for, an atmosphere that players want to play to each week. WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER if we want to over achieve
