Great start to the game. Could have had it comfortably sewn up by half time, but we took our foot of the gas and allowed Highgate back in. Still, some great football and if English was fit, we could have certainly made it easier. Some ridiculous refereeing decisions (including the sending off of Brain) partially ruined a good afternoon of football. Still, we got the win and into the next round. Brain's future ban will be a big obstacle.

Think Ref got the Red spot on, couple of our lads agreed.

Fair enough. Different viewing angles give different opinions. This does look bad.

Definite red for me, bad touch then a lunge. Pity, as the goal was sublime. Thought we showed a resilience today that hasn't been seen in recent times. Craig Jones was immense and seems to have got Sam and Joe making right decisions too. Very glad to see Kurt manage a full 90 too. Great team effort and a well deserved result.

Maybe if their players (namely the 2 and 5) had not started to offer the crowd out for a fight after the game we all may have stayed a touch quieter.
This is From their sour grapes match report.
Just a pity that the Victoria Ground sound system was not of the quality nor had anybody the nouse to press the "off" switch in order to prevent the constant screeching and noise pollution suffered throughout the entire ninety plus minutes.
From where I was standing their players especially the right back (number 2) couldn’t stand up to the constant screeching and noise pollution and his game, touch and discipline crumbled. Watch the highlights, even at the final whistle he wants to have a go. Typical Highgate even their trainer called someone in the crowd a ‘f***ing. Wan**r “ for no apparent reason.
I didn’t hang around to see if they turned up for the fight.

I thought the red card was harsh - that is until I saw the photo in the Worcester News: looks as if the ref had it right after all.
Sublime goal from Sean Brain, but with the sending off we had to survive 50 minutes under the cosh, which was not enjoyable viewing: I thought the defence worked like Trojans and fully deserved the clean sheet. Plenty of gutsy play from everyone.
Highgate are not my favourite team though: plenty of play-acting as per usual.

Can somebody explain how a supporter is to know when a player has been sin binned as opposed to a sending off?

They go off without being shown a red card.

So on Saturday the Highgate player was sent off, not sin binned, as there was definitely a red card shown?

I think their manager was shown a red card? Sam Oji was sin binned, but I don't recall seeing a card shown. I'll stand corrected though.

Think the ref was taken aback by having the ball slapped out of his hand by a captain and former pro. Pointed at Oji to go, which he did and then flashed the yellow card after (think it is meant to be the other way around).

So, for one jab in the referee's chest Dan Jezeph gets a 150-day ban, whilst slapping the ball out of his hand (which could be classified as an assault) merits sin-binning only; where's the justice in that?
