Sadly , Supporters Direct's Jacqui Forster has died after a long struggle with cancer.
15 years ago, Tim Jauncey had this brainwave about Worcester City being owned by its fans. Madly, myself and Andy Bullock grabbed hold of the idea, and tried to figure out what the bloody hell an IPS was. That's an Independent Provident Society by the way, no we didn't really know either.
Then we started working with Supporters Direct, and in particular Jacqui Forster. Jacqui did pretty much everything for us in terms of guidance, launch, vision, business plans etc. and she was at St Georges Lane for our launch back in 2004. She had witnessed the fall of her club, Altrincham, so she fully understood the pain of the non-league supporter. She was quite a lady!
RIP Jacqui.

I met her at one of those early meetings when Andy B and me hopped into his car to head to a back street social club in Coventry where SD were having a meeting.
A knowledgable woman who had convictions and fought for them.
Sadly missed

Jacqui helped us at Redditch back when the Bromsgrove Rovers merger came to light.
I had no idea what I was doing (insert sarcastic remark here) and little knowledge of the workings of a non-league club, I had only volunteered on the periphery at that point.
Had we formed properly, it would have been a far smaller trust than most but Jacqui was there every step of the way, reassured us over uncertainties, fought tooth and nail to help us with bits of funding and gave us sound advice about how to handle gaining publicity in the right way because we were all very angry at the time.
The trust that never was still mobilised people to unite behind the club in terms of volunteering, etc, and it all helped to prevent the shenanigans.
While I fronted it for a while and did all I could, Jacqui was instrumental and nothing was too much bother. On a personal note, I will always feel grateful for her support because it felt a pretty lonely battle at times. She understood, empathised and helped without ever being condescending.
Jacqui was personable, professional and dedicated. It is incredibly sad to see her life cut so short.

Very sad news Creaner. Jacqui will be remembered by all of us at Rovers and Sporting for her endless enthusiasm for the Supporters Trust ethos and the unquantifiable help and support she gave to both BRSS and BSSS. RIP.
