Sad to read in yesterday's Worcester News of the death of Joyce, who as many City fans will recall, was the wife of our late, great Chairman George Goode. If I remember correctly, George was then manager of the local Bradford and Bingley BS, and put the club straight off the pitch, leading to the golden days on the pitch under Nobby Clark, when we became the best non league team in the country. How we could do with his type on the Board now, we would never have got into our current mess, and we'd still be at SGL or in a new ground.
Joyce was a great support to him in his role. I know Steve and Rhys very well, my condolences to all the family.
R.I.P.

I wholeheartedly concur with your views there. At my boat I have a frame, and in the frame are two of Georges City ties, that Joyce, via Steve and Sue gifted to me. They really do mean so much, and I look at that frame and those ties, and the memory of George and Joyce keep me going in the quest to find a solution to the problem that is WCFC !
RIP Joyce

In the days under George Goode's chairmanship we were - as someone has already said - sorted off the pitch as well as on it.
