The club has been running a feature on its website, where Julian Pugh has been getting out old photos from SGL. They bring back fond memories for sure, of what was a great non league ground at SGL. However they also make me think, how have we gone from what we had and the level we played at, to what we've got now and where we are now.

Unfortunately, this is what happens in business when you hit roadblocks, or even just road junctions, and just close your eyes, bury your head in the sand and don't tell anyone whats going on. WCFC Ltd. is unusual as a limited company, in that it actually has an element of fan ownership built into the constitution, with the 1% limit on any one persons shares. The trouble is, that kind of constitution only works if you engage the shareholders, and Colin Layland is still telling shareholders "We don't have to hold an AGM if we don't want to" which is perfectly true, but perfectly irresponsible. The club needs investment, it always had needed investment, but until there is a change in the constitution allowing for serious levels of external investment, the business can only keep going in one direction. No business is particularly interested in a maximum £3k spend to own 1% of a failing business. Change should have been made 10-15 years ago, when there was an asset rich business worth a punt on.
