City have have signed “hot prospect” Alex Tomkinson from league rivals Coventry Sphinx. Less than two years ago, he hit double figures for both goals and assists with Barwell in the Northern Premier League, two levels higher than City. That sparked interest from Football League clubs as trials with Birmingham City and Crewe Alexandra followed. After a less fruitful campaign last season, Tomkinson, 21, was snapped up by City’s Midland League Premier Division rivals Coventry Sphinx where he made 10 appearances before signing on the dotted line after City’s 8-0 victory over Quorn on Saturday.

Sorry this is not the subject of this thread , Tyler Weir has left the club and joined Hednesford Town, sad to see him leave, the last of last seasons players now all gone.

Phew! That'll free up the wage bill a bit. We must be heavily overspending on budget at the moment

No real surprise Tyler going. He should have probably gone before the season started.

Not quite true as Lee Hughes is still here, Jamie Smith never left, he was put out on a season long loan, and Aaron Brett was part of the first team squad. But I get your point.

I admire him for sticking around for a bit but it was inevitable that he would leave at some point.

Sorry to see Tyler leave, but is no surprise. I AM surprised that he has gone to Hednesford. Not exactly local for him, and I thought he could have played higher up the pyramid.

Actually , intimately. Apart from "Cash in Bank" of course. Believe me, it doesn't take a genius to extrapolate from the published accounts and previous published P&L figures, but I don't even need to do that.

No, just overspending. Glad you find the failure of the Board to control the spending funny. Break even budget? From a year on year loss of £150,000 when the company turnover is only £250,000?
