Have any of you lot ever wondered why this 'banter board' struggles to attract new users?

This banter board is where you can say pretty much whatever you're feeling, and express opinions, and opinions divide. It's not in any way affiliated with Worcester City Football Club. Anyone is at liberty to set up a message board to talk WCFC , should they so wish.

Have any of you lot ever wondered why this 'banter board' struggles to attract new users? Is it because the board have run the club into the ground causing attendances to drop and people losing interest because the board won't answer any questions?

" Any idea of the breakdown on who voted which way? " wrote Brigadier Sir Nils Olav
I know that Alan Feeney voted against, I'll try and find out the other two.

"As long as the club's supporters are divided into factions we will never succeed."
There are two "factions", those who accept what the board are doing, and those who don't. Are you suggesting we all just, shut up, watch "the lads" and accept the situation?

Are you suggesting we all just, shut up, watch "the lads" and accept the situation? I would suggest there are also some who don't care what the Board are doing, as well as those who are unable to decide one way or another as they don't know very much about what the Board are doing. So is that four factions?

I'd put both the "don't cares" and those who "don't know very much about what the Board are doing" in the faction that accepts what's happening. How stupid would someone have to be to not register that we no longer play in the fifth tier at St George's Lane? They are just turning a blind eye to what's going on because it's easier that way. They'd rather not cause a fuss or rattle the cage. As a result Hampson and co get away with it.

You are right Admiral. The do nothing say nothing brigade are frankly letting the club they love go down the pan. It may be slow but it is certain. In fact it has already gone but a couple of hundred can’t see the corporate corpse in front of their eyes.

Or maybe the couple of hundred want to watch a game of football on a Saturday, which is their choice so what's wrong with that ?
"As a result Hampson and co get away with it" -- I've said before if you have concrete evidence of wrong doing then do something with it and get them out, if you haven't then stop going on about it.

The board could end all this speculation by holding an AGM to inform shareholders of the financial state of the the club but they will not.

There is no law against being crap at business, and the majority of shareholders appear to be happy to allow losses of 150,000 a year , on a turnover of 300,000 a year. The drop through the leagues, the Board lying to fans saying that they would NOT be resigning from the Conference, when they already had! There are things going on in the background now, with the evidence that we do have, but these things take time.

Ok - here's a rant from someone who has watched WCFC since the 50's. I KNOW that the WCFC that I loved has gone. I KNOW that the Board should have given us an AGM. I KNOW that there is some question about where all the SGL money went. I KNOW that if PW happens it will be no more than a field with a fence. I KNOW that we have dropped down to 'pub level' football. But I still want to get some fresh air and watch a match on a Saturday. DOES THAT MAKE ME STUPID? I get sick to death of bolshy know it alls and very rude members of this Board (some of whom from The Trust) telling me that I am keeping Hampson in a job, and have my eyes closed. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO DO? One thing I will do anymore is support Perdiswell. The bile that emits from some of your arrogant supporters makes me question as to whether I want to associate or support these people. Hopefully WCFC will soon die and we can draw a line.

When WCFC dies, unfortunately the only people who have been planning to step in, are those bilious arrogant supporters. And therein lies the issue, there's hardly a queue forming to rescue the business. You're not keeping Hampson in a job by being one of the companies customers, any more than Enron customers kept Jeff Skilling in a job, or Ratners customers kept Gerald Ratner in a job, or Sky / Sun customers keep Rupert Murdoch in a job. That's done by shareholders. But just like Skilling, Ratner and Murdoch, the Board of WCFC Ltd. don't give a damn about you the customer. And if you're happy and content with that...c'est la vie.

Anyway I'm off to get some fresh air and watch a game of football today , a big local derby in the Evo-stik league , I have zero affinity to either team.

The majority of Trust Board members still attend home matches on a regular basis, myself included. That doesn't equate to a ringing endorsement of the Club Board. Nor is it an expression of the views of the Trust Board. It's their choice. The stay away fans who still post here have similarly made their choice. And that's the point, it's a choice. Yes, sometimes posts on here are arrogant and sanctimonious. But that has no influence whatsoever on whether or not I attend matches.

I haven't been aware of that much "bile" on this board, most posts seem to contain facts, questions and suggestions. In fact, what I've been most surprised about is the almost complete lack of bile and anger following the events of the last decade. The chief reactions seem to have been apathy, acceptance and indifference. A great local institution has been destroyed. Where is the outrage? I've also supported the City since the fifties, but I've now sadly accepted that I'll probably never see them play again. Certainly not while this board are in charge. Meanwhile I'll get my fresh air somewhere well away from Hampson.

Forgot the reply!!!!Julian is correct. It is all a matter of personal choice. I have been accused on here of trying to discourage fans from attending -not so-,of not being a real fan because I choose to spend my money on a club that deserve it not WCFC,and of not caring about WCFC (by someone who hadn't been born when I started following the city). So "bj" all the sanctimonious and arrogant comments aren't one way.And this isn't a rant just an honest observation

I am not defending them at, I can't stand Hampson, Layland and I've very little time for the latest Muppet to join the Board. You just don't get it do you, I'm saying if there have been Directors acting either outside of their authority or outside the law and you can prove that then do so, but if you can't prove that then draw a line and move on. I will keep going to the games, why because I love the game of football.

I hate to say it, look at FC Hereford, what a turn around... Great fan base, purpose, drive and commitment. Not like the present WCFC board, I'll never return to watching City while bafoons are running and destroying this once great club... there's my bile

One major difference between City and Hereford though. Hereford had a stadium in the town to play in.

A reminder that the first of the club's two consultation events on the plans for Parsonage Way takes place today between 3pm and 7pm at the Warndon Hub, Shap Drive. Representatives of the club - presumably the directors - will be sharing their vision, discussing Parsonage Way with supporters and listening to feedback.

The club are not exactly promoting this much are they? It's almost as if they don't want too many people turning up and asking difficult questions.
