When some of us mooted the idea of a new club some time ago we were dismissed as that would have resulted in us dropping down a few leagues!
What's the objection now?

How does one go about setting up a semi-professional football club? Would any club have to start life at the bottom of the pyramid, wherever that is, or is it the case that higher-level leagues will offer places to start-up clubs if that league speculates that the club will generate larger attendances? Would the continued existence of Worcester City Football Club Limited affect any league's, or the FA's, treatment of a new club?

The first half of the story has an uncannily familiar ring to it! I only hope we see a similar ending.
Those still claiming that supporting the current club in the form it's in is a good idea should read this.

The main objection would be the "new club" would have no ground (of their own or even to share) to play on/at. If those of you who wish to go along the "Enfield Town" new club route as pointed out by Jem Pitt, then find a ground to play at first. Once you have done that, come back and put your cards on the table. Then and only then will you get people like me on board (pardon the pun) who will put their hands in their pocket to fund it.

Just to say that I am not advocating this route, just showing that it is a possibility. I'm sure 15 years ago Enfield fans considering this were told "Just buy your season tickets, and get behind the lads, Tony Lazarou has a plan" But you don't have to believe that that is the only option. And Enfield had to ground share for their first 7 years

But the "old" club don't have a ground either! I don't see any cards on any tables. In fact I don't see a table. But we are expected to support this situation.

I agree with you "noboddy", however I'm not backing the "old club" as I think its finished now. I donated merchandise to them a couple of years ago and got no thanks at all, so never again. I am prepared to put my hand in my pocket to back a "new club" if and when it happens, even if it has to ground-share with Droitwich or Pershore for a few seasons, but until then I'm happy to watch/support Chorley FC.

I also have a local club I can go and watch, they also play in blue. The problem is they win things, and have just become Premier League champions. I'm not sure I could get used to that.

We nearly played them once in the FA Cup!!! But Huddersfield got there instead, how that could have changed things !!! Simon J

In the context of geological time there is not long to wait for the planning application at perdiswell to be determined. Should that application be approved then we are in a whole new ball game regarding the shape of things to come.
