"The shareholders who voted against change are the same cabal that got us into this mess to start with. They are just clinging on to power so they can rinse every last penny from the club. Every time a supporter pays into the club they are just propping up the regime." says "noboddy" above.
Until you resolve that issue and persuade those major shareholders who voted against, at the EGM in The Star Hotel, not to call a poll vote rather than a show of hands then I can't see how the club can have everyone pulling in the same direction. I can only think that I - and everyone else except them - are not privy to some important reason (well, important to them anyway) why they are doing that.
Could somebody talk to them?

Surely they've been "talked to" for years? The people who block reform are major shareholders like Hallmark; Lancaster; Brown; Hampson; Boddy; Layland etc etc. They won't listen because they are the problem.

I may well have to. My name was based on the historic promises of Chairmen past and present for the new ground such as Dave Boddy who on
" Selling " the ground said "This is an historic day for the football club. The sale of the St George¹s Lane ground means that the development of the new stadium at Nunnery Way can move forward. "Hopefully, this will now lead to exciting times ahead for all supporters of the club."
Dave Boddy, chairman of Worcester City, said: "After many years of frustration and waiting, this is the news that all Worcester City FC supporters have been waiting for.
"After years of endless negotiations, discussions and meetings with numerous parties, we have finally been able to put together a partnership that has the ability to deliver the new stadium that everybody associated with the club has craved for so long.
"We are delighted to be working with such a high profile and reputable company as St Modwen, which has strong roots within the city.
"We are determined to build a stadium that will have the commercial non-football income streams to help the club climb up the football pyramid and sustain football at a much higher level. We are also determined to build a stadium that the city and the community will be proud of."
Anthony Glossop, chairman of St Modwen, said: "The football stadium is the catalyst for the 20 acre development of which it forms the key part. The remaining 12.5 acres will be developed into an exciting mixed use scheme which will complement and support the football stadium and bring other commercial uses to benefit the city as a whole
Well they've all been proved right haven't they ?
Okay, okay, one or two minor technicalities such as no new stadium, no commercial non-football income streams, a plunge down the football pyramid as opposed to a climb up, can't sustain football at a lower level as opposed to a much higher level, no Stadium catalyst for developing the site which went ahead anyway.............but apart from those little hiccups........
Perhaps "alwaysfedbullshit " would have been more apt.

Within three days of relegation to the nether regions of football, this hopelessly incompetent Board choose to go ahead with the muddled appointment of no less than THREE management figures of National League standing. How long they will be able to justify or afford these professionals whilst playing in an `alehouse league` I have no idea, but even at this pathetic level, it looks like the Club will continue to haemorrhage money just have they have done in sinking us to these depths !

I was wondering, in the Local Social Club Premier League, do managers actually get paid at all? Are players paid?

FAO JEM PITT
Jem, I've now read the very interesting article regarding Enfield, and in answer to your question "yes" I would support a breakaway team if I were satisfied that we had done all we could to rid the club of the current regime.
The problem I still think with WCFC is that there are to many factions and split loyalties within the fan base and if the current mess is not sufficient to unite them then I cannot see what will other than the ultimate failure of the current legal entity (which would also ensure we were free from the dissident shareholders and Board).
I think a fans forum should be arranged but independent of the club itself. As a start it could be just dates and times when members of The Trust were going to be in say a city Centre Pub to talk through ideas with whoever decides to turn up.

If possible, the majority of supporters need to unite against the Board and try and encourage change. Collectively if, for example, we indicate to the Board that we are no longer willing to hand over our money at the turnstiles whilst they are still in charge then surely this will force those shareholders who were opposed to change to reconsider?
Only then, should this course of action fail, should we then pursue the option of a breakaway club. To do nothing and simply watch the club perish is only going to prolong the misery.
To that end surely some form of large scale, well publicised meeting has to take place asap?

I don't see too many factions or split loyalties within the fan base. We're virtually unanimous that we want the club run by fans. What other factions are there?

If I am correct wr4wolf, if someone were to join the Board now or after the present shower have gone, there would be personal liabilities to consider. Without prior knowledge to what consequences they may be, it would be rather foolish for anyone to walk into the situation. I think it would be all but impossible for new board members to take up the position were any existing board members to remain. However an entirely new board would bear no liability for the position prior to their appointment provided they act in accordance with their legal duties post appointment. As the existing board will not leave then the question remains, sadly, academic.
