Final to be between Halifax and Chorley.
Halifax won 3-0 on penalties whilst Chorley beat Kidderminster 2-0 (with a 90th minute goal) - oh dear!

When I remember how we competed against these sides, I still can't believe how we went down. It wasn't as though we were getting hammered by any stretch. Against the top 5 we drew one and lost 9. However 6 of the losses were by a single goal with the losses at home to Halifax, Chorley, Salford and Fylde all games we should have got at least a point. Just one would have kept us up ( until the Board voluntarily relegated us that is ! ).
I suppose it shows what a competitive division NN is, and the fine margins between success and failure. I thought that both Halifax and Chorley were no better than us, yet they make the play off final. Kidderminster must be gutted having finished a deserved second, whilst Salford prove once again however much money is thrown at a non league team ( remember Colne Dynamos, Rushden and Diamonds ) it's bloody competitive.

I guess Halifax, Chorley, Salford and Fylde will all say they didn't perform well when they came to the VG, but the fact is they all won.
I can't help feeling that Harriers have invested heavily this season in anticipation of making an immediate return. Now that it hasn't happened can they sustain their budget for another season? Surely the NN title 2017/18 is destined for Salford?

Are Salford part-time but going full-time for next season? Not that being full-time guarantees success - Kiddy spring to mind.

I went to Kiddy. Not the greatest of games,as play off games seldom are,but a great atmosphere. I have to admit I was very jealous!

Salford will be full time, as will Kiddy, Harrogate, Nuneaton. Unsure on relegated sides from the Premier. Surprised Stockport aren't full time as I would have thought they could sustain it.

No argument with that in general but I don't think we can say much on that score! We have squandered practically all the proceeds of SGL for what?A couple of decent cup runs, which I fully admit to having enjoyed as much as anyone, relegation, possible further voluntary relegation further down the pyramid and almost certain oblivion. Talk about ending in tears!!

oxford - we can't say anything at all, nor would anyone ( other than Boddy and Hampson ) attempt to - there can be no finer example of how not to run a football club than Worcester City. We are all in agreement. However full time at this level is madness.

Halifax 1-1 Chorley Extra time being played. Dodger. and a great crowd of 7900 with 1900 from Chorley! There were probably over 2,000 Chorley fans there - we were in one of the "home ends", as the ques were just too long for the away end - plus in the "home" stand you could buy a beer! To be fair over half the "Chorley fans" were either PNE, blackburn, Bolton or Burnley" - it was a"Lancashire United" for the day. In the end the best team won. I was gutted, but at the end of the day Chorley can have another crack next season (unlike Worcester sadly).

I'm sure Darlo would have been slightly miffed if Chorley had won Dodger.

I think Darlo have other things to worry about, they were set to receive a £40k investment to help with next season's budget but due to on line criticism the Investor has pulled out of the deal. Also a second potential investor has decided to keep their money in their pocket.
