Oh yes, Carl knew alright. Anyone within the club would know exactly what was going on. I think Carl was out of there after the humiliation of having to present the "business plan" at the public meeting. That document which was 6 pages mainly of pictures was never meant to be a business plan, it was an outline that Carl initially put together for the Board, a very basic framework to be discussed and debated. It included things like Directors dress code! which obviously was up for debate, as you'd never have seen me in a blue blazer and tie, unfortunately I felt that the club had far bigger issues than whether I'd be allowed in Boardrooms on match days to enjoy the apple pie and coffee! Carl deserved better than that.

Perhaps if the club ever do get a new stadium then "The Carl Heeley Stand" has a nice ring to it and it would show how much Carl was appreciated by the Supporters

Just looking at the timeline. End of January, Carl leaves. Beginning of February, Hughes wants job then promptly leaves. Then all players for sale. A week later the "We're not looking at voluntary relegation" statement. The 2 weeks later secret talks with FA to take us down a few leagues.
When all players were put up for transfer, surely this was when the voluntary relegation was decided? So why, a week later make a statement saying no voluntary relegation? Then 2 weeks later, do it?

Do we believe this statement?....... Worcester City made a failed attempt to persuade the Football Association to change their decision to place the club in Midland League Premier Division. Chairman Anthony Hampson revealed he had held crunch talks at Wembley on Monday after the FA’s league management committee agreed to put cash-strapped City in step five of the non-league football pyramid. He said he wanted the Blue and Whites, who were relegated from National League North, to drop down two divisions to step four of the non-league pyramid – the same level as Evesham United who are in the Southern League Division One South and West.
However, his bid was rejected, meaning Worcester will look ahead to clashes with Heanor Town, Shawbury United and landlords Bromsgrove Sporting next season. "I am sorry and I can only apologise," Hampson said.

So far, Hampson's reign of 8 years has consisted of leaving SGL, irresponsibly spending the cash , relegation, and a 2 league demotion. It's almost impossible to think that a worse job could have been done. For this, add that equally hopeless hanger on Colin Layland. What does he do ?
What's next ? Sadly it will be the massive 200 k plus loss for this season. When we get to hear about it at an AGM is anyone's guess, as is the production of Final accounts. The AGM for year ended 31.05.16 ( the 155 k loss ) has yet to be called ( let's not forget John Jordan has left ).
I have thought many times, why does he carry on ? I think being charitable it can only be the power / ego thing. Even Boddy took the hint eventually ! I can't believe he enjoys it, and I can't see what he gets out of it.
Hampson's not a football man, he's shown himself to be inept at running the football club, all the fans with the exception of his chum Lord Faulkner think he's clueless, he gets nothing but stick, yet he still carries on regardless, " you're stuck with me ".
To me, the sale of SGL and the Nunnery Way contract is the key as why he remains. Our final season at SGL (2013) resulted somehow in a loss of 188 k, ( not the 43k presented by Hampson at the 2016 meeting ) from a loss of 68 k the year before. I don't think that anyone remotely independent who might scrutinise the fine print is welcome at all. Prying eyes not required. As I've said many times, the lack of AGM's and Final Accounts is very suspicious. What's there to hide ?

I'm no expert in these matters, but has anyone at the club looked at how much it would cost to get claines up to MFL prem standards? Surely it's worth looking into?!

I don't think that anyone on here has a clue what the club have looked at. I don't think most people at the club actually know whats going on either!

There's still money somewhere. When that goes so will Hampson and co. Who's supporting him? Could Hallwark, Lancaster and co still have fingers in the remains of the SGL sale pie? They appointed Hampson. Why would they do that?

How do those supporters who traveled hundreds of miles and spent their money to "support the lads" feel now they know the club were never going to stave off relegation at the end of the season?

It just occured to me. Does any other club get "punished" for us going to Mid Prem league? I'm talking about promoted teams from below? Surely to keep the same number of teams, someone must be put out?

Surely to keep the same number of teams, someone must be put out? Looking at the recent step 1-4 constitutions that the FA brought out, Ware FC have been reproved in isthmian south or north and harrow have been reprieved in isthmian prem. I'm guessing Rugby town may drop into our league , depending on who they decide to put in the combined counties league (them or west bridgford)
